Hi all...

my daewoo has finally started to act wierd

early symptoms were the check engine light would go off after 10-15 sec of engine starting... the engine would rev higher 3K rpm till the light goes off... this continued for like 2 weeks

now the check engine light wont go off.. the car is parked and im on my Jeep

here is the troubleshooting done so far...

1. Tried to switch ECM to diagnostic mode. The check engine light wont flash the code 12. suspected a faulty light.

2. removed ECM and the light went off on ignition. so the lights is OK.

All i get is a steady light ON with no code 12

Book says that either the MEM-CAL (the engine calibrator board) is faulty or the ECM is faulty.. im glad to hear that

next im going to test this ECM on another daewoo.. to confirm its faulty

then get a kabli one.. anyone knows how much an ECM of daewoo costs these dayz ?

The engine sulf is repairable. kindly visit Federal Autos, I-10 Islamabad or better option contact its former electrician KHALID His cell no can be taken from his subordinate AMJAD Painter whose Mobile no is:03219502868. you can give him my reference Dr.Shaan

Hello everyone,

I have recently bought a Daewoo for 240K, the engine and body is in very good condition. See pics attached. I need some info, I have no idea where should I buy the spare parts from and which one is the best mechanic in isb/rwp. There are some adjustments that my car requires, please guide as to where I should get the things done from.

1. The car has high cng consumption, where should I get the cng kit tuned from?
2. Which is the best mechanic for daewoo in isb/rwp, I'm ready to pay a few hundred extra rupees but the maintenance should be perfect.
3. I need some parts like daewoo side mirrors, mudguards. Where can i get these parts from.
4. Where should I get mechanical adjustments like mud guard fixing, new locks etc.
5. Where can I get the calliper service done from?
6. Interior work like roof cleaning, side boards fixing etc?

Is there any place where all of these can be done together?

Please help guys, I'm new in the daewoo world and I need help, I'm looking forward to getting these stuff done this weekend. Thanx!

daewoo mechanics are , daewoo plus or daewoo point in G10/1 I&T centre ., central automobile in I-9, and near that another daewoo specialist i dont know the name, but there were many daewoos under job., some people also suggest federal motors I-10.

for CNG tunning go to khattak CNG @ G-10/4, behind I.C.A.P and @ G-9/1 behind PWD office

for parts i heard Qamar Autos in Azhar Saheed Markeet

my daewoo is behaving strange since last day, it is sounding like a boat is running, i visited a mechanic he checked and cleaned the plugs, one of the plug was malfunctioning.

it give me little releife but the sound and pick of the car is not good as previous.

when i press accelerator the sound of the boat started to come and the there is no pick of the car even in 4th gear.

suggestions are welcome

u knw delco?might b i spell wrong but it sounds lyk this!!anyhow its that black circular thing from where plug wiring comes...i guess u hv fault in that.n also make ur timing advance.i sufferd this problem n it cost me 300rs to replace that specific part inside delso dnt knw its name:(

in last month one of the point of distributor cap malfunction and whole part is replaced with wires. i will visit him again and will check the same again.

might it be not working

no sir i m not talking abt this.when u open this distributor,here is a mustard clr platic,open it n it has brown color of some part.replace that.u getting me now?

infact not that whole thing,it has some small part which name i dnt knw,but its fault of that i knw for sure bcz my daewoo suffered this in petrol even n after long diagnosis i got this point

i think ur refering to the rotor...

things to check in distributor...

1. the cap for cracks etc
2. the rotor
3. pick up coil.. seldom fails
4. the module.. if it fail u might need to replace the unit.. its not repairable.. small tiny miny circuit

as a advise.. keep a spare rotor in the glove box.. i once had trouble with it.. the rotor was burnt on GT road at least 60Km away from the nearest Daewoo parts shop i.e pindi

A spare rotor, timing belt, fan belt will always help

Has anyone installed the cielo/nexia servo cyliner into a racer? I heard its a bolt on job on the existing master and gives excellent braking experience. Anyone?

Well bro also heard the same (Jamroz asked me to go for a cielo servo when I was going for a DOHC swap but was short of many at that time). I know a few who are quite satisfied with it. I think lord_of_islamabad also got cielo servo.
