This weekend I replaced my daewoo racer's heater core that was leaking since last year... but now due to the chilling weather i had to fix it.
To reach the heater core i had to remove few panels of the dash board... as daewoo owners know that the dash is a bit fragile and tends to break easily.. so you have to be carefull.
i started with removing the front seats... just to make working room for myself
removed the glove box... opened the gear console area... deck area.... here i marked all the grips, cabled removed from panel so that i know how to put them back
here is the pic of all things removed...

there is a tray covering the heater/AC unit... remove that... remove screws of the lower tray of heater/AC unit to expose the heater core... here is a pic

removing the hose from this engine side on the firewall was the most difficult part.... it took most of the time... the hoses are highly in-accessible and requires lots of prayers to be removed....lol... anyways opened the gear lever rod to get more access and removed them somehow
here is the leaking heater core...

now i was left with 1 options... either get this one repaired or get a kabli one... both needed R&D
so we were in saddar for some solution... radiator wala guys were not confident if their solution would work... so decided to put a kabli one... found one finally

now it was all about putting things back... the worst part...lols... and yes i was left with 3-4 screws as usual in all DIY...
one of the side effects of the exercise... i was initially not able to adjust the gear lever properly... putting in reverse would put it in 1st... lol.... but then fixed that... but still its not that smooth between 1st and 2nd... so i'll get that adjusted from my mechanic tomorrow
Overall i was a good experience.... opening up daewoo dashboard is not that a big deal... if i can do it... anybody can
Now i wont have to keep my windows down in chilling winters
