Daewoo maintenance free battery

AOA everybody, i need opinion regarding battery.
i bought Daewoo 38 Amp maintenance free battery in Nov 2021. i have honda city automatic 2017. i live in Quetta, in Sep 22 i went out of town for some days, my friend tried to start the car after a gap of about 5 days, the battery was dead. he had to jump start the car he got battery inspected from shop, it was in good health. but still it kept draining in just 2 days. when i returned, i got it completely charged by charging station, it ran fine for about 2 weeks, then again i had to jump start the car. i use car daily for going to office, though its not a long drive, its just 5 min drive. but i keep using the car multiple times in a day.

what could possibly the reason for such short battery life? battery seems to be in good health as i again got it inspected and charged.
can anyone suggest;
1. if i should change the battery yet or not?
2. how to maintain battery in good running condition, if i dont change it yet?
3. which battery and spec i should consider for changing the battery?
4. is the daewoo battery un-reliable?

anyone can suggest or help with questions above.

Seems like your vehicle has something draining the battery!

not at all, default battery worked fine and for 5 years. i changed to daewoo

What I meant was that your old battery could restart after 2 days rest?

If it did, and this doesnt and you dont have a parasitic drain, the battery is trash, ask shopkeeper to stop smoking crack before testing the battery capacitance, it can show the RC of it.

Its probably in single digits.

yes it worked fine, even this battery use to be working fine after couple of days restart... this gap of 5-6 days seems to be the factor to reveal battery's performance...

it was happening to my car as well, I had HUD with bettery voltage reading and it kept going down too quickly , 10.5volts within a day. I knew my new daewoo battery wouldnt hold charge for long. Thankfully i did not need to jump start it as i sold the car within a month.

I have Honda City 2015 1.3 MT, I have been using Daewoo DL-50 for 1.5 years without any problem. My car was parked since last Wednesday, today (Tuesday) it started fine in morning.

Using Daewoo DL 60 in my vitz from last 2 years with more than 30K Kms used without any issue.

But slight chance it will go completely dead on you within a year. quiet many victims around

why not use the actual correct battery that the car was shipped with? a regular lead antimony flooded battery. They work great as long as your charging system is intact and good and you buy the battery from a decent shop who makes the electrolyte properly. Or buy the battery precharged and ready to install from the manufacturer.

The car is with me since 2015, the battery which came with the car lasted 1.5 years. I used lead batteries after that which lasted 2 years each. Now shifted to the dry battery and it is working fine also.

You assume this battery is dry? Pop it open to check, you will probably see how extremely poor it’s manufactured.

Anyway, the original lead antimony flooded battery sold in Pk work great if your shop is not a complete idiot. I used to prep and install them new for my customers, on average they lasted 5 years with ease. My longest run was 9 years on a plain average exide 70ah battery that was made in Pakistan and installed in a 100 series corolla.

The trick to their life is high quality electrolyte.

These daewoo and ac delco cheapo batteries are terrible if you check them internally.

The most important fact is to use "proven quality" electrolyte.

use vapor distilled wateruse lab grade acid.

use multiple techniques to measure SG

use thermometer to put battery in service.

Long life is guaranteed. I have done this a lot of times.

Get your battery Ah ratings and set the charger appropriately.

Can you explain the difference between 'lead anitmony' and 'lead acid' battery? is it just in pakistan or globally. also I had a lead acid battery for 8.5 years in my 1000cc car (Phoenix) all I did was pour water that I had collected from AC drain (distilled water) and never used battery water available in market.

lead antimony and **normal acid battery or wet battery ** is same...
Normal acid battery are wrongly said as Lead acid battery

In a battery, the cells are of lead and liquid is Sulfuric acid there is nothing as lead acid.

Daewoo maintenance free battery is totally useless and must be banned in Pakistan because a few weeks ago my AGS battery gives up after 5 years usage and unfortunately I have installed a new daewoo maintenance free battery in my Honda city 2005 and after 05 days continuous usage, which were approximately 30 kilometers a day and total running of 150 kilometers, i parked my car and not used on 6th day. On 7th day my car battery dried up, the mechanic checked the alternator which was found ok. The recharged the battery and after another 5 days , the story was the same and it was found that this battery is not capable of retaining charge more than 12 hours. After 12 hours of parking, you must have a mechanic back up for starting the car. In my opinion daewoo battery must do some other work instead of making these horrible, pathetic types of car batteries. Even the daewoo battery must not be chooen for toys to operate.
