Daewoo Racer GuideLines Required?

Salam to Every One.
I had used many cars in my life but all were from Suzuki, now i have to buy a car but i have limited budget this time of around 180000 to 2 Lacs only, i wanted to buy a family car thats why i need to know about Daewoo Racer, Price ?
Maitenanace ?
Good Mechanic ?
Parts Availability?
User who have Daewoo may advice me and i will be thankful.

i am using daewoo racer officer 99 scheme since Last Ramzan. Its very economical from fuel consumption piont of view. very comfortable and good family car. i never found any problem about unavailibilty of parts but slightly expensive than suzuki and toyotta. maintance is not so expensive as people says, you can not find 1500 CC family and comfortable car in lower budjet. i am also enjoying drive with cool ac working even in hotter sunshine. have good pic while ac working even on cng. its real shocks are also comfortable. I hope you like its drive.

yeah i am also using the car for about a year, its a good car in that money. parts are available in islamabad / pindi, and in 2 lac you may find a ok condition daewoo of local number.

Yes you can get daewoo in 2 Lac budjet in ok condition and in 250 for excelent condition, i bought mine in 260 with sealed engine, alloy rim and dunlop tyres, back lights, rpm speedometer, sound system with 12 cd changer, power radio antina, AC , CNG and in excellent condition, first owner and rwp no.

A very good economical car, maitenance free type, parts no problem in pindi/isb... but veryyy bad resale

i tried selling mine.. par no buyer.. so decided to keep it

well i do most of work myself.. but any hospitalization is done at Mian Khan's workshop at Tipu road, pindi... its near PAF cinema

I own a daewoo since 08 years. \i think its a wonderful car thst comes in this price range. The parts are no problem in Islamabad/pindi and lately lot of daewoo mechanics have emerged in the market, so the problem of scarce mechanics is also solved.

I'll recomend to buy this car.

i had used 2 racers , i like this car, the pick and grip is also vary good i had one karachi number daewoo which use to reach 170km/h on gas, several time on motorway . i am not satisfied with mechanics. for better performance of breaks, u can use corrola 88 breaks in it. its millage on petrol is better than other 1.5 cars.
currently i am using nissan sunny 93 which is totally different car than daewoo. daewoo is a strong car whereas nissan is known for its comfort.
i had 2 bad experience of breakdown on daewoo , no one know about its problem except the mechanics. thats the only reason i am not using this car in my current location:'(.

I use to own daewoo racer lemans edition 1992 model officers scheme lahore registered .. my experience was just ok with the car since i drived it in town not on long route my advice for u is to buy daewoo only if u have short route within the city the reason is because most road side mechanics dont understand it well n the parts are not that easy to find n are expensive...if ur going to buy a daewoo go for auto transmission not manual since clutch plates tend to wear out very fast in these cars n ur pocket is going to burn whether its maintaining or just fueling it.. it eats petrol like a fat kid eats candy n on ac forget about it..in that budget u will most likely find engine overhauled daewoo n painted one i can gurantee u on that one ..

Adding a little info.Daewoo is a car if maintained properly hardly fails so the reliability is not an issue for a well maintained woo.The only issues which never improved its market were lack of mechanics/specialists as it was the first fuel injected car introduced in pakistan based on american GM platform with ECU and various sensors.So a road side mechanic might not be able to understand faults.On long routes car is completely reliable provided you change timing belt at recommended intervals.Keep timing belt/router along at all time.In case of a break down 90% chance is that either router is blown or timing belt snapped.Unlike DOHC engines incase of belt failure valves are not damaged that a plus point.

It is best buy for twin cities if some one is looking for a subcompact sedan.I have kept one for 20 years and it is still serving me like a champ.

Suggesting auto tranny in woo is just retarded.Its a 3speed auto with bad fuel economy .I changed my clutch plates after 120k Kms.Depends if the plates have been installed by a experienced woo mechanic.

The only user who know the true value of this car is the first owner and you wont find many first owners of woo's nowadays.Every woo is either 2nd/3rd owned and is suffering from myriad of issues because of neglect and resultantly people give it a bad name.

A well kept 1st owner one cost around 3 laks which the poster mentioned is above his range..n who in the right mind would buy at that price since market now a days are flooded with cars better than woo in that range only an eccentric will place an rooter n timing belt in his diggi i mean is the woo clock ticking bomb just waiting to blow off? Who wants that it hectic seriously? I never did such a thing with my woo

Daewoos were never maintained as people considered them cheap cars.Only a daewoo enthusiast knows true value of this car.

Btw this is an old tread digged.in 2006 market was around 2 lakh now its changed and my reply was towards cheema saab.

One can buy an old accord at that price might i suggest with a such low budget who would want to buy 1.5L car on the first place n afford petrol in it n that too in a failed korean car im speaking for isb n pindi users where there is no cng... u can say a thousand things about woo that are cool like for e.g its ac the only thing that i miss on my woo.. korean built quality dont last long as of japanese build quality thats why this car has low market value as comapared to other cars but facts are facts ur car may be in one of hundred that were fated to turn out ok but the majority of daewoo cars speaks here..
