Theres nothing complex in that car - just requires a proper tool set to service - be sure to use real genuine parts for repairs. The engine is very long life, usual cause of failure is removal of thermostat and hacking up the fan wiring in the ECU causing the engine to run very rich on petrol and eventually wear out the cylinders.
Look for a proper mechanic for mechanical work, and find some spare parts shop that have genuine parts - The wiring is GM style which is alien for our local electricians, Its very simple though, but some of body looms in the engine require sheathing or taping up, use proper fabric type tape not nitto plastic tape.
Point to really take care of is that do not let anyone clean the distributor reluctor and pickup with emery cloth, it gets damaged and timing advance goes lazy, sometimes the Ignitor unit also goes bad, always use a brand new one, not one sitting on the mechanics shelf.
