AoA,

I am having a strange issue. My car resets itself randomly while driving. The whole dashboard lights come back again just like at the start time. This happens mostly while I switch on the high-beam, but random. Does anyone else face any similar issue? Any diagnosis/fixes?

One of my headlights is fluctuating a bit, so I am beginning to believe it might be an electrical shortcircuit, which trips the car. But shouldn't it be causing the related fuse to blow, instead of whole car reset?

Any help would be appreciated.

No. But the notable thing is that my faulty headlight stopped working completely as well, for almost as long as I did not encounter the same restart issue. So I am still of the view that electrical short-circuit was causing it.

hahahaha....strange issues with these brands....why ddnt you go for tyota ...

wiring ka issue ho ga...check with electrican.....

Bro i also encountered that issue in my daihatsu hijet and by just replacing battery terminals solved my issue, this will occur due to weak connection with car battery

I've had a similar issue with my Lancer 2011 model in UAE. The issue was with the immobilizer unit, which wasn't detecting my car key and kept forcefully switching off the car as a security mechanism. I had to get the immobilizer changed and it never gave a problem after that.

Another possible reason could be that injectors are clogged. You might need to get a tune up and fuel injector cleaned. these are just my two bits from past experience.

Immobilizer faces another issue too. If u keep it close to cellphone (like holding them both in one hand or same pocket), then they cause interference to each other, since both work on same frequency in Pakistan. I discovered this by chance, but then tested it deliberately and found this conclusion. Keep your car key/mobilizer and mobile in different trouser pockets.

However, my issue was the faulty headlight, which when I got fixed, the issue was resolved.
