I am making this thread due to these reasons:
1. There is no thread which has been made for sharing information about this car.
2. I am hoping to help others thinking of buying this car, by sharing my experiences, positive and negative points of the car.


It is a 2007 model Daihatsu Sonica,(it has same engine as of mira, gino and esse) some of its details are as follows:
1. It is a front wheel drive car.(4 wheel drive option also available)
2. Its engine capacity is about 658 cc.( It is Turbocharged car).
3. It`s fuel tank capacity is about 30-35 litres.(Regular)
4. Engine oil used is Liqui Moly 10W40 MoS2.(It is very good oil for year round use, but LM 0W30 would be better for winters)


5. The engine oil capacity is 2.7L without oil filter change, and 2.9L-3.0L with oil filter change.

have plans on buying this car in blue , love that color as well as interior , have driven one. drive is smooth and turbo & intercooler gives justice and pleasurable sound for its class but not soo satisfied with the suspension mainly the shock sound it produces .. Another thing which im astonished about it is its unique handbrake design which is placed where the clutch would be in manual cars are (same pedal concept), if a person has and drives manual cars + auto cars in daily routine and if Godforbid during driving one might press that handbrake unknowingly or by mistake it can be very devistating.

I bought it for around Rs.4000 for a 4 litre pack
it is also available in 1 litre i dont know the exact price for one liter packing but i think it is available for around Rs.1300

It is a very good car, almost noiseless on 80 kph
My car does not produce the shock sound you have mentioned and i drive daily with 2 people and on my way back from uni i drive with 5 people for about 10-13 km. with 5 people the suspension becomes stiff and the ground clearance reduces which becomes a little troublesome when i have to drive over speed-breakers

If car, then a clean one can be bought for 850000 easily,(adjusting +-20000)
not so clean one can be bought in range of 780000+-20000

It is still better choice rather than its counterparts Mira, Gino and Esse (performance-wise due to turbo)
Otherwise for those who value mileage, i can say it is best of both worlds. Because i am getting mileage of 19 on my daily route. will post how i am getting this mileage

Current Fuel Average is about 19.6 km-pl. Due to following conditions:
1. I drive with light foot between speeds ranging from 60-80 kph
2. I clean air filter weekly(clean using Air blower)
3. I maintain tyre pressure of 32 psi front and 40 psi back
4. My daily route is 31 km from home:
On my daily route to university there is light to moderate traffic on road in the morning and
On my way back from University there is moderate to heavy traffic on road.
5. I fill with petrol, mostly in the morning, and fill when close to a quarter(25%) of petrol remains

Sometimes i drive my father`s car (Toyota Corolla SE Saloon). Due to constantly driving Sonica i forget it is a corolla with manual transmission. i put it in 1st gear and forget it is manual. This mostly results in a smoky burnout and an angry father.

I have to go to university from monday to friday and my classes are from 0800 to 1600 daily
Will Inshallah wash and wax the car on saturday and post before and after pics of the process to show how car looks when it has just been cleaned and waxed and also to show its daily suffering
