Daihatsu Terios 1.5

Asslam o Alykum!

I need following information about new Daihatsu Terios 1.5
1. Fuel consumption
2. Ground clearance
3. Automatic transmission is CVT or what?
4. Is it good for mutli purpose use like for city, for highway, for hills and sandy area?

Sir it has a normal 4 speed A/T only in 2WD models.

Fuel consumption is around 8-10 km/l with a mix of high octane 4WD, never calculated the 2WD.

Serious off roading cannot be done in anyway but it is good for rough roads sand/muddy tracks.

On highway it can easily reach 100-120km/hr with reasonable steering feedback and stability (please do not compare it with a Corolla or car).

Best thing is that you can drive one at Toyota Southern motors or any 3S dealers, I think they are giving a 2 years or 50,000 km limited warranty.

The 4WD has some more equipment, most notably the front fog lights but I find the 2WD with A/T more fun to drive.

Highway --------- 35%
Sandy Area ------ 15%
Hilly Area -------- 15%

Which one you suggest for this requirement?

auto will be good but u will feel underpowered in it.manual will not feel underpowered its also 4wd .its your choice.My advise is to go for auto one 2wd as you have not to do offroading and its mileage will be better

2WD will be definitely more efficient by 2-4km/l and is better to drive.

Sir it feels heavy when overtaking, and it cannot change lanes as fast as an Xli/Gli, also some body roll is evident when cruising at high speed, but it is natural for all SUVs regardless of brand or price.

I had measured 8” at showroom with no passenger and fuel.

1. Why Daihatsu has offered 2WD Auto and 4WD Mannaul. What is the exact usage of 2WD and 4WD?

The A/T will rob the power of 4WD, 4WD adds weight, the best thing about 4WD is its traction and grip in hilly areas, wet rainy season and snow, it has a permanent 4WD but the lower gear is not there to come out and deal in serious mud or snow.
