Datsun 120Y 1976 Turbo with A12

Hello PWs,

I will be moving to Lahore soon from Canada. I am planning to purchase and restore 1976 Datsun(My dad used to have one back in the day) to its former glory. I do not want the car stock except for the interior. What engine upgrades with turbo(that are easily maintainable in Pakistan) can you guys recommend? I have seen a couple of people do A12 EFI single injection upgrade but not sure how reliable it is. Can you recommend any engine swaps? I want the car to have a roaring engine, do not really care about HP. I have seen SR20 and CA18DET swaps done but not sure if they are available in Pakistan.

Also I am thinking of lowering the car in a staggered stance(wider tires on the back and larger on front). What suspension would you recommend?

Also if you guys have any recommendations for body kit that would be much appreciated.

I am not a racer or a drifter, I want a car that looks classy (gloss black with silver chrome) but is a beast under the hood. My budget is around $5K.

One word, dont! I hear you have nostalgia and everything but the biggest problem is the car will never be upto par.. unless you plan on befriending a mechanic here or your house is next to a workshop and your daily route is house to said workshop, if you take the car anywhere ahead ofbthe said workshop your anxiety levels should generally rise. Making the car run is one thing but having a shitbox is another. If done tastefully the costs of R&D alone would be higher than the price of a brand new car.

You sound new to restoration stuff. Visit thread and go through forums you will find more like it.
Do complete homework before going for it.

AoA, I have started a project for restoration of Datsun 120y 1979 model (B310), and already purchased the project car. And now I am in phase of sourcing the crucial parts before proceeding with the rebuilding and restoration works.
