Dead W210 220 cdi. Looking for solutions

The SAM in mercedes is shared over canbus too.. mucking up the systems with shit work will cause interesting stupid issues.

The diff ratios on a diesel benz are not compatible for a swap with a 2jz.

They arent even compatible on a petrol benz engine. And i have seen people swap wrong 5g tronic gearboxes into their mercedes only for it to error out as the vehicle speed comes from esp module and is crosschecked with the transmission in and out speed sensors.

If wrong reading is detected, it errors out and shifting program is locked out on a w210..

This never ever happened with any of the swaps we did. We take the responsibility of the smooth running. If mark 2 diff can withstand 2jz anything can happen in this world sir. And I'm again saying it all depends on the end user... We are from those few people who get the work done properly without any mistake. Baki this is Pakistan and yahan pe you can't do everything according to theory like you are saying, just because limited availability of parts.
So anyone who's a large list of practical experience here can solve big problems with almost every brand.

But if we are outside of Pakistan like you, definitely we will stick to theory completely. As u name the part and you get it.

This is the issue that probably lead to this, scrap yard parts and misdiagnosis, I have finally come across a fellow who can properly diagnose and rectify issues, the thing is that he doesn't have a star scanner.
From what I am seeing here and what I am hearing, even petroling is not too good an idea. Cdi it is then

cross check the availability of same model used certified vehicle from Shahnawaz

seek valuation of your vehicle.
add the cost of (messed up) swap which need workshop visit every few hundred kilometers

would it be worth to put in resources, time & effort to justify the digit calculation ?

dispose of the vehicle as it is & save hassle.

Mark 2 is a toyota and pretty dumb wiring and controls too.

Mercedes benz is a completely different animal,

Using mark2 as yardstick to make a full working swap of a toyota engine into benz chassis and offering complete full working car with original equipment working is a pipe dream at best.

Its not about theory or pratical.. its literally suicide.. why do you think people havent done it globally if it were that easy.

You can weld in a 2jz, start it up and hand over to customer saying "engine chal raha hai".

Getting the ESP, BAS and even interior to work will be a lost battle.

Swapping to petrol is doable but very expensive, rebuilding that diesel will be cheapest.

If i were you, i would try to find an e320cdi engine, gear and diff along with dde and tcu and code it to the car. Then literally play with fairlady and skylines on the road while painting double black stripes..

It has too much torque for its own good.

The mark 2 i made is one heck of a machine... From mounts, to exhaust system everything was made considering the oem stock running conditions of a 1jzge... And i only do such projects for the people who are understanding that im going to do everything properly. And it's never a engine chalraha hai kinda projects....

Everything of Mercedes will be working, and car will be safe to drive by all means. And don't use the word weld... New mounts will be made, according to the best possible configurations in the bay.
You've maybe seen people just throwing in engines and say check karen koi smoke nai. But people only come to me for high quality work. And i make custom shafts, custom mounts, custom axles according to the application considering the balancing. It's not like, that just drop the engine and tell the owner ye le engine start hai...

@dayrider has seen our quality of work... But he's more tilted towards oem setups, like of a merc. If he had any idea in his mind of 2jzge, he would forsure considered me..

So i would say stop reaching to conclusions about anyone & most importantly you're sitting miles away from Pakistan. You've not seen my quality of work... I've proper equipment, starting from torque wrenches to vaccum pumps to lifts and engine stands.. I've every latest equipment available. And im not in to automotives because i just thought of doing this business, like let's invest in automotive industry, Infact it's my enthusiasm for cars...

Like i said earlier going the CDI route will be the cheapest and most reliable option, but finding a clean engine will be tough i am not sure as there were many categories of the 220cdi right from the start , your merc being a facelift would probably have had a newer higher HP engine i maybe wrong as i have very limited knowledge about these OM series engines.All said and done goodluck...find a good ustaad.After the swap your car probably will never feel the same way again

I've been searching the swaps in e220 many people abroad have swapped chevy v8 engines, and many different swaps in it. And 2jzgte bolt on kits are also made available. So world is not in 1960's anymore. Its 2019 going on.

The difference is about 250k, at present its worth 750k, later 120k if done right. So the monetary benefit is there. But this decision has more to do with the fact that due to the prices these days, I can't get a half decent car in 10 lacs, so best to go with this, atleast I know it's history...

I do. But I have yet to see a flawless conversion here. And quite frankly, I don't want to take the headache of monitoring everything and embarking a 2 month long process of visiting the workshop. Spent too much time on it as it is.
The problem with a 320 well even 270 is that lots of others will have to be replaced and even those aren't cheap. The biggest advantage with this is that all my previous efforts of the last month, won't go invane....

It might, depends on how it's done, I swapped my pajero with a newer model 4m41 instead of its old 4m41, all the checks and balances were done and carefully conducted. The vehicle is better than before. Will try to do the same with this

W210 engine gear with differential can be bought in less than 200,000 pkr, an in prestine condition
Just visit Dubai to buy your self , and forget the worries for next three years at least , these Mercedes engines are bullet proof , I remember I drove the car for at least 2 months with very low coolant , it did not show me any annoyance , in weather averaging above 40 . Japanes junk can never come even close to German excellence , but paksitani have seen only two japanes brands only and they are addicted to use them . Here is the mercdes rocking on stock engine in 48+ C not on road , deep in desert at the age of 22+ years

I have seen the chev v8 swaps in almost everything.

I myself have installed ls1 into bmw e39 and jag xj12 too.

The agreed upon factor is that while abs will work passively. Bas and esp will not. The ac failsafe wont work either and neither would the complete factory gauges.

Meaning. Its a half baked car, the beauty of the ESP is that it keeps the car pointed straight even on wet road. Once not working with that cheap chevy v8, it was a sliding car.

Btw. Those cars were not registered in the state of tx due to these.

Mark 2, cresta, cressida etc.. are very simple cars for me, I call them egg n potato cars. Doing a job on a mark2 is very very easy. I can even install a 2ur in a mark2 and have all systems running in a short time.

Installing that same in a w210 and making sure whole car works... lol. Yeah it will start and run, have separate button ac, disabled vacuum locks, jugaar windows and power locks, indicators rigged because front sam not seeing a running terming point. (You cannot twin ecu it like rx8 as it requires engine running input). The door pump also is a rudimentary sa module on the bus.

The chevied bmw and benz you see online are mostly drags or recreational vehicles, not daily drivers.

Take it easy, you may be doing good jobs, but compare apples to apples, not apples to chanay.

Pricing is of my choice if i'll commit something sir ,i won't back off from the functionality. And maybe you don't know i never ever accept easy defeats .
I always work hard & achieve the goals which are commited to the end user ,
So as @dayrider Sir said everything can be done but best deal & price at what it's costing us matters! So right people do exist .

Now i have many end users who say Mr .Xulfiqar always list six to seven symptoms which are already available on google .So they say we literally have many a times wasted so much money just on the tips told by Sir xulfiqar ...I have many cases but i always tell them you people must have not told him the problem statements clearly .So i always go in the root cause rather than playing blame games or degrading anyone .The information which i share either has 100 percent accuracy or even if it's wrong it will be 60% closer to the actual fault .So since i always respect senior members but for me the senior member's are those who are spot on 100% of times & i'm sorry i have seen you many times you were like writing long paragraphs even on the things you don't know.It's really easy to decipher that who's a pro & who's not .

Anyways reason of this was never to lead you down or to disrespect you in any manner sir .What i wanted to tell is i'm dealing in all brands so i would never disappoint anyone.The things comitted will always be completed & those which are hard to achieve will be told to the end-user prior to the starting of the project.
