Dealer saying car not allocated

So, I booked my car back in August 2021. They gave me delivery time of 30th April 2022. I then received a letter in April that it will be delivered in May.

I called the dealer today to inquire about delivery time and he said your car has not been allocated yet?

What does this mean? Does this mean that they have the exact car but it's not assigned? Can they sell booked cars on own to earn money and delay the customers who have bookings?

The same issue is with me I book the car in the end of august and my tentative delivery date was 30th April and same I receive the letter that the car will be delivered or will be tried to deliver in the month of my and there is no where about the dealer know they do not know when it will be delivered though they did not say this thing that the car cannot be allocated or located whatever what they say that they will try it would be delivered in the month of my it is we are not sure about it when they will be delivering there is no confirmation no tentative date given it is just let us that they will try to deliver in the month of my add I think this letter is given to every one because they are late and just to avoid the late delivery charges send this letter for that letter on they can claim that we had send the letter to you in meeting that they would be some delay because of the short age and blah blah whatever any best of luck to me and best of luck to you and best of luck to everyone CVT from the bloody Honda Atlas Pakistan

Khud Honda wale jo delivery date dete hein us ka month baad bhi car nahi dete, aur mein ne due date 30 April ko (1500000 extra price increase old booking ) submit kra dya pr key rahe amount transfer nahi ho saki bank clearance ki wja se eid k bad hui is leye new price pay karein.
