Debit card that works online?

Is there any bank that allows its debit card to be used online except Standard Chartered, Alfalah and HBL?

HBL's debit card works online, I have Alfalah's credit card that works online. But I also need a third option. I had debit card and credit card of Standard Chartered, but because of rude behavior of branch manager I cancelled everything there.

How is UBL?

I read about this new SadaPay debit card, they say that it works online, but it doesn't mention if I can feed money to that debit card account locally.

There is no reason any debit card should not work online, you just have to call the bank to activate it. Around 1.5 years ago, due to fraud, all banks block debit cards for online and foreign transactions unless you called the bank.

I also have account at Bank Al Habib, but my account manager said that their Visa debit card doesn't work online. I think I will confirm this from their helpline.

Edit: Confirmed from helpline, Bank Al Habib debit cards can't be used online.

Ah ok! I have only used SCB for online and foreign transactions (even ATM withdrawal from other country). It used to work previously but later debit cards got blocked. So called them and it started working again. Through i prefer using credit card for such transactions because of security concerns.

Meezan is good and works well for local and international transactions without calling to activate. Keep in mind it doesnt work on netflix.

Meezan bank has no credit card. So everything they have is on Debit card. And online works $ purchases work as well. And good bank. I’d recommend in a heart beat. Good fast services as well.

It's better to use credit card for online transactions as in case of any fraud or scam done on a credit card the bank will lose money and will pursue the culprits for recovery. For a debit card, the debit card holder will bear the loss and pursue the culprits on his / her own.

asa kuch nai hai. long time ago when i had non-chip debit card, my card was skimmed and was used in karachi for 90k shopping. Anyway my card was blocked immediately and money was returned after 2 months.

Meezan bank has insurance of about 1 lac or so when or if someone robs u in atm inside that small room. They will cover.

I gave my friend my card to get money out i was lending him. He went to any atm. Took 20000 cash. Again put. Again tried to withdraw within 1 minute window of taking cash. Meezan bank called me. Computer said verify if it is you. I pressed 1. And after that his money and card got out. Otherwise he was waiting for me to confirm.

It is not safe to use debit card anywhere other than ATM machines (even ATM machines can be bugged). Better use credit card for all online transactions especially foreign transactions. Reason is that if for any reason you lose your money, its gone. But if credit card is hacked/misused, you don't need to worry as it is bank's and insurance provider's headache.

My SCB debit card used to work on London ATMs but last i tried in December 2019 and it was blocked. Same with my friend, later we called bank and they unblocked it.

I mainly use Alfalah credit card to make online payments. But there have been instances where card was not working on some sites, but HBL debit card worked as a backup. I pay hosting and domain renewal fees online. I need backs to make sure the renewal fees are paid on time. Its difficult to get credit card while working from home. I had to use sifarish to get Alfalah card.

Used meezan bank for google payments. works great.
To avoid any mishap I deactivate the Debit card from my APP and switch is on again when I need to use.
Its as simple as On/OFF button for your meezan bank debit card.

Yup i forgot to mention this bit. On n off in less than 5 seconds.

Login by fingerprint & then a 2 step process. Quick app. Simple interface. Easy to pay bills, once added. I receive a sms monthly when bills are uploaded on internet before even bills are dispatched to our house with payable amount before due date.

Debit or credit cards can be used online as far as they have a reputable service, like VISA, UnionPay, etc. Nowadays most of the banks allow online shopping for a limited window only by calling the bank.
Better use credit card than debit.

Alfalah card not working would always remain a mystery, so mine does not work on Daraz and few airline websites even when i call the help line for unblocking authorising they say they have no data of transaction no record of decline of said website
Its pretty strange thing.

Other annoying thing is do 3 transactions together and there is an auto security check every time.. too annoying at times
