Defender VS Land Cruiser

With a LC you goto the workshops to get the problems fixed.
With a Defender, you have to call a mechanic to get it running because it left you stranded in the middle of no where.

OMG, i cant believe this, is thie brand new defender also stucks in the middle of no where

A brand new LR maybe rugged and tough but still not as reliable as a 10 years old LC.

if this is the case then i think i should stuck with my 1996 prado. As i have done most of work and the vehicle is almost in perfect condition

Well, This is the thing which i said before, One will speak about his own vehicle.... one thing keep in mind... yeh jo Gora sab hy na, never selects wrong thing for there own use, and every where in west, the vehicle used for safari is Land Rover........ secondly, where ever reliability is a major concern they believe in LR.... I traveled a lot on my old 92 Pajero, never stopped any where in the north or even in cholistan, doesn't mean it is better than LR, No way. otherwise every maintained and mechanically ok vehicle is the best..... I have seen Mehrans in Sharda, I have been to Peer Chanasi on Cultus in 1999, when there was no road like thing???????????????????? now whats up.

ya zero meter Hilux is also in mind but thats also not comfortable and 5 seater. I usually travel in a group of 7 or 8. fixing marks cabin ruins the beauty and style of Hilux.
Honestly speaking i hav done dozens of visit to mechanics with my prado, and spent around 3 lac in just 4 months time, in order to keep it soundless and reliable on long haul flights

well for a landrover multiply the 3lacs into triple figure 3x3=9lacs;)
and most of our mechanics knows nothing about a LR.....if it breaks somewhere in north then only GOD will help you.......if you are more into expeditions then go for a landcruiser....

Both the vehicles r capable, comfortable n reliable
The only factor I can see is availability of parts
Toyota parts r much cheaper than LR

Although Defenders are known for their offroad capabilities world wide, I would suggest that the Land Cruiser in Pakistan, is a more practical purchase. Parts are easily available, resale is good, most mechanics would not have any trouble working on it and lastly, maintenance of a Toyota machine will always be lighter on the pocket and easier than a Defender in Pakistan any day! if i was u, Defender wud be my choice any day, any time. i m in army and offcourse we have to go offroad quite a lot. trust me, i never ever take a mistu L200, JMR or hilux, cause i have experienced each and every one of them extensively, and where Defender can take me, no other of ^^^^ vehicles can, dat too, with absolute reliability and surity. Defender forever ! !

No doubt Defender is a good 4 by 4 jeep just for off road and adventures.

But it not for family and its shape is also not good as compared to LC.

You may increase your budget and buy LC 2000+ model in good condition.

Otherwise Toyota Hilux is also not a bad option....

Go for Land Rover Defender. We had an official Defender and it was very very tough and strong. We used to bring our wheat grain on it from our agricultural lands. It worked as a tractor

I have a Range Rover 1986, roamed from Naran, Deosai, Skardu Shimshal valley hunza and all the way to cholistan. Never even once did it break down. this is a 25 years old vehicle.

If you maintain any vehicle it will never breakdown.

LC anytime .Reason:Cheap maintainence,easier to handle by local mechanics,more comfortable and rugged reliability
