The purpose of this article is not to defame any company but to raise voice and draw attention of concerned authorities to protect Consumers.
I booked Changhan M9 on 20-Jan-2021 at Changan Gul Motors Karachi. Tentative delivery date of Mar-2021 was allotted on the booking with verbal statement by Changhan Representative that it will be max by end of Mar-2021 or 1st week of Apr-2021. However, on every follow up since Mar-2021 I was told don’t worry delivery will be made in few days. On 17-Apr-2021 I submitted Balance Amount Pay Order on request of Changhan Representative who told that vehicle will be delivered in a week.
Since then the representative of Changhan is not even responding to calls or messages. I emailed my issue to Changhan but got no positive response other than that my query is forwarded to concerned department. My brother reached out Mr. Danish Dalia (GM Sales) on social media who was generous enough to at least respond and told that Vehicle will be delivered by end of May-2021.
The bottom line is that May-2021 has also ended but still the vehicle is not delivered and Changhan Pakistan is unable to give any Delivery Date.
My question is:
Q-1) Is there any Automobile Policy in place to compensate or protect Consumer for these delays?
Q-2) Why Companies are allowed to launch new products if they are unable to deliver existing product timely?
Q-3) Is there any authority that keeps check on agreement these companies make with the customers as these agreement literally takes away all the protection and rights that might be available to consumer ? e.g. Using open term such as beyond companies control in case of delays. (Who is there to define what is beyond control and what is not)
