@nmshaikh, that did not work out too good for us:P but yes, with weather closing in, im glad we got thru without any mishap...

I was surprised too when you mentioned the Raikot restaurant was open as it has been closed for quite a while. However its been a few years I went up that way so i thought maybe it had re-opened. Anyway, to be stuck on the other side of Tatapani would have been worse. as the only option would have been to return to Chilas.

So we wake up next morning to the sound of flowing water

visit the toilet

Get all dressed up

take a few pics

and are on our way on horseback cuz we were too lazy n tired n not is shape to walk it

The journey was rather interesting with amazing views and a nice cool breeze...occasionally we came across a stream or 2 with amazing cold water

just as we thought it had ended tho, one of the horses, carrying our bag slipped...

and fell a good 30-40 feet off a steep rocky edge...

luckily tho, the animal survived...we however were in no shape to continue on horseback:P so we walked the small stretch that was left...

We were soon greeted by this view...

and better still, the view from our cabin!!!

cabin u ask?? yess!! we were smart enough to carry our tent all the way up but left the water proof upper layer with the car...just so it wont feel lonely...

Satisfied that our car wasnt lonely, we turned to making tea...at 50rs a cup, this worked better for us considering our tight budget...

We soon headed to explore the meadows...and these compressed pictures do not do it justice!!! the place was to die for!!!

There was soon thunder in the mountains...and we rushed to point our cameras towards an awe inspiring spectacle!!

as this young lad here kept insisting that we provide him with "roopiss"
Unsure what magical oracle he seeked, we carried on untill it finally dawned upon us...that his quest for "roopiss" was infact a simple request for "rupees"

Day4 started off with sorting out money matters

and we trekked through the forest towards beyal camp...

Beyal was beatiful but soon sun started to head down and we headed back to fairy meadows for the night...

I dont know why but the pictures are getting very grainy upon upload...maybe someone has any input on how to sort that out? cuz the ones with me are very vivid and sharp...

We headed back down to raikot early on day5...

and soon we were on our way again!!
