Detomaso Bianca 1986 CB50 Engine Required?

Salam folks,

After owing 20 years ago, bought this beauty again recently... The Detomaso is like a memory thing for me, having driven in my collage life and now back to it again.

The car is clean but with stock charade petrol engine, am searching CB50 engine or half cut so that this beauty is originally restored 100%. Any leads, pointers would be appreciated.

Mabrook. Used it for 6 months. In the 90s it was a novelty. Would beat the shit out of the athasis (88) etc.

CB50 is over 30+ year old now., any scrapyard item if available will be class 3 scarp (all items removed only skeleton left) nothing as in complete kind of motor.

Still it is doable if you are determined.

Knowing the engine & its torpedo like lead, start collecting items rebuild it from scratch and you will enjoy it for very long.

Clearance was low. For handling stiff suspension. Mechanics would say "Shaak Khatam hain"..

But nothing beat suzuki cultus 1.3 GTI twin cam (Swift shaped). A friend had one back in 1993. That machine would give a bamboo to virtually all cars on the street. Uff. What pull....

Since am returning to Detomaso after odd 20 years, I badly need to keep myself updated on G11 eco-system (like part sellers, new, old, good mechanic etc)....

I would be super indebted if experienced folks can share these details so this beauty goes to the right mechanic and parts... Am based in Islamabad/Rwp.

Am good to source parts from anywhere in Pakistan or abroad for CB50 etc... If available.

For mechanic, I need one here in ISB/RWP... JazakAllah and warm regards...

first thing first source the engine, dismantle it check the integrity of it. as a DIY
Source the parts before you reach out to a mechanic for assistance.

if you depend on a mechanic you will cry out and will not achieve desired result at desired time line.
if you are looking at such task as wallet holder. please be nice do something better with such money.

Hmmm, Insha'Allah, will follow your advice...

So far, stock charade petrol is fine, until everything is ready for CB50.

Have done some chemotherapy so far:-
1. Changed all oils (gear, engine zic 20w-50 synthetic)
2. Auto fan, thermostat valve 80c Germany OEM
3. Free flow exhaust
4. Performance intake
4a. Tidy wiring, with radiator/AC fans to go blast when AC ON.
5. Carb tuning (not satisfied as there are Vacuum pipes which I still doubt not in order, awaiting some good mechanic in isb/rwp)
6. NGK Iridium IX plugs
7. ZIC antifreeze coolant premixed
8. Ignition starter service/bushes
9. AC service/Honeywell gas
10. Brakes services
11. Wheel balancing / alignment
12. Daewoo 45amp maintenance free battery

Few things to be done:-
1. Performance plug wires (yet to figure out which one best for this engine CB10?/23? (Charade sada petrol engine) - pls advice?
2. Carb Vacuum pipes ordering? Mechanic?

down grade engine oil to 10W-30 any local brand from brand fuel station.

in RWP we have @rajaatta & @dani_kk is located in Islamabad

(digit before w denotes the ambient temperature for cold start)

From 20w-50 to 10w-30?
I was actually thinking to go 10w-40, but a bit reluctant being an old technology engine?

10W-30 or 10W-40 both will be fine for Twin City climate

best of luck with the restoration, till where the carb is concerned, there is a workshop in chor chowk, peshawar road, rawalpindi cantt. called darwaish autos, you can visit him to fix your carb, otherwise for performance related upgrades, @rajaatta should be able to help you more, as back in the day, he used to play along in this field quite regularly.
