Yes thats right but you need a bigger engine at least 1.8. Not usually a problem for people say in usa / canada or europe but in pakistan not many people can afford bigger engine cars. just a 1.8 litre engine car cost upwards of 40 plus lakhs in pakistan.

but manual is not "CRAP" . I have driven manual all my life and even now that I have purchased a new car (brv) it is still manual. However if it had been available with an auto gear instead of CVT, then i may have considered it.

Regarding the topic, the main point is still the same. There have been no new reviews posted regarding the climbing potential of glory normal or pro or the natural aspirated one.

I saw one upclose but as it was holiday , couldn't get to sit in it. But it looks ok and it seems that it has more space in the third row, but i have to first sit in it to decide.

You don't "need" a 1.8 for auto lol. The 1.0L vitz and even 660c Japanese climb just fine, albeit with a bit more effort on super steep inclines. Just put in S and do it.

For even less effort Anyrhing 1.5 and above is a breeze.

And it's your bad luck that you're still driving a manual. That is sad. Tho if you're a manual enthusiast then it's your choice but there is no benefit of the manual.

Chilas Babusar road isn't very steep. The reason why cars struggle there is due to the height and subsequent lack of oxygen, which reduces car power noticeably.

What kind of "real world" test is that? I've been to Monal a million times and literally never had to stop at an incline and then move forwards.

To be fair, glory 580 turbo (non pro) does seem to have transmission issues on inclines.

It is even facing lawsuits for failing on inclines.

I don't think that 'BAD LUCK" is the word here. It all boils down to personal preferences.

I really don't see why you are saying this to be bad luck. mostly people from abroad use automatics and same is not the case in Pakistan. I have used manual since 14 years of age and now in my fifties I continue to do so. you guys who are driving autos are the ones with bad luck as you haven't had the pleasure of driving a manual

You have yourself mentioned vitz and jap cars, these are good cars and cannot be compared to pakistani made cars.

As explained before I had a 10,000 km run clutch (original in my toyota car 1.3 2008model) it was fully loaded with five full grown up people (my family) and full trunk and my car was climbing very slowly from chilas to Babusar (after halfway).

So at this point I definitely think that one must have at least 1500 cc engine car. I would have purchased civic or corolla IF they had 7 seats. Where 7 seats are concerned there aren't many choices. That is why now i am looking to purchase glory (when and if i am sure that its problems have been solved)

i hope everything is clear now. and Mglaxy 3 i think that you should rethink first before writing your sentences, as some of them may offend people , whether or not you had wanted to do so in the first place or not

By the way have you ever climbed from Chilas to Babusar top ??? Please do let us know

Agree its personal choice at the end of the day.
But my point was nothing is wrong with autos and they too climb just fine. Sorry if my words hurt you.

I have taken a 1000cc fully loaded abtbd to nathia gali, naran etc n it has done just fine. Not chilas though.

1.5 n above are definitely more responsive on steep inclines.

I hope you're able to find actual reviews on glory PRO steep climbs.

Clutch plate is not everything in a car. Engine health/Compression and most Important; driving technique matters in the mountains.

I have driven a Manual for a good 10 years on every road in the North, still drive one and when I say an Automatic transmission car is easier to drive in the mountains, I speak from experience.

Brother chilas to babusar is quite steep and most of the cars climb slowly. But the point is that how many times will you go to that route? Most of us drive in cities and auto is not luxury now. Its a necessity

I dont know about issues in Glory but i was able to drive my 2017 gli auto on full load from chilas to babusar top and the car didnt disappoint me. My brother was driving 1.5 manual city and he told me that his car is also load to climb.

That is pathetic if that is the case. What is use of a SUV if it can not climb a hill. Suzuki Mehran is better than it, in this case.

1.Would love to hear your comaprison of glory with pakistan market suvs.
2. Would like to have ur view on build quality and realiability. As q mobiles were loaded with faetures but had limited realiability thus they became useless after some time. I hope u understand the point
3. Fuel average and fuel required are u running it on hi octane or normal fuel.
4 . Any genuine owner can plx comment and elaborate.

I saw an analysis of this car, seems legit. Only drawback mentioned in this video was the pricing.

I also saw that news of 580 being sued in indonesia, but that was only 10 people who were going for it and no one knows what was the out come.

I have a glory 580 pro.

Normal fuel is fine.

Avg around 7. 45 liters gets around 320km

The car is cheaper by around 10lac + so shouldn’t really compare with any other suv unless same price.

For the price the car is fine plus you get extra 2 seats!

Bro if you're a manual driving enthusiast then it's all good but please don't spout out false facts that a CVT is 18% less efficient than a manual. Maybe you are getting confused on drivetrain efficiencies. Even your manual brv will probably put out ~100 wheel hp if its in excellent condition.

Average drivetrain efficiency is almost equal for both transmissions, if the CVT is well designed. A real life example for this fact, look up the times of Civic x 1.5T CVT and 6MT(USDM market), the CVT is actually faster 0-100 kph by 0.3-0.5 seconds. This means, that on average, the CVT is putting down more power.

Maybe what you're saying was true 10 years ago but definitely not true nowadays.
