From my research so far.

One big drawback I've read on Nepal and Sri Lankan sites is that it can't climb hills or even inclnines. Which is astonighsly stupid.

If you're already in momentum you can.

But if you stop on an incline, you won't be able to go forward again. Turbo takes ages to kick in and won't on an incline as you won't be able to move the vehicle much.

Otherwise it has amazing spec sheet.. but underpowered.

I think its a joke - a car that cannot do standing start on an incline and is supposed to carry 7 passengers. LOL some really bad drugs were involved at the designing stage.

If someone wants parking garage furniture why would they buy this?

I read some Chinese article [ after google translate ] which I am trying to locate , this uses a cloned 1.5T engine from Honda.

And I don't see any curtain airbag deployment here. It has just side seat airbags which can help the chest/ torso area. The main problem in side crash is the head and neck , in that case you need curtain airbags which deploy from roofline downwards to protect against the direct impact because head in in direct line and there is only a glass between the point of impact and occupant.

Internationally, the side crash rating require the curtain airbags. Seat airbags are just additional protection added to the side impact beams within the doors . Glory has seat airbags and that too on front seats only.

Anyways still its better than other local cars which has nothing on side as far as protection BUT dont confuse the more important curtain airbags with the torso/ seat airbags.

why does the engine or transmission fail on inclines?

cvt is garbage and the engine doesnt have enough torque - specially on a 7 seat SUV, which requires at minimum a 3 liter engine

Its engine is 110kw, 140+hp.

Quite a few 7 seater SUVs do it fine in 1500cc range, in fact have less power than 580. Eg toyota rush is only 77kw, also 1500cc.

There sseems to be some sort of a bug in its transmission. Engine isn't obviously a super powerhouse, but isn't that low on power that it should fail on a hill start.

Torque is 220Nm, much higher than 136 Nm of Rush..

Need a fix in transmission I guess, unless it is already fixed in current variants.

ok, so some new info..

i Auto variant which is launching in PK, has a new CVT gearbox. It is much more improved when it comes to acceleration.

Also, the old model had issues in hill climbing, but could be avoided if someone switched to manual mode.

So... looking promising.

Problem is where does it apply the torque in rev band and how much does the transmission underdrive and how loose the torque converter is

E.g the old 4.0 litre inline 6 in the jeeps were approximately 240 hp and had abt 260 lb/ft torque all the way down from 1700 rpm (fast idle)

OTOH

Lancer evo had a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine pushing 280 hp and 240 lb:ft torque but delivered that at 5200 rpm

Same reason you cannot use turbo 6 Cyl Petrol engines in city buses and almost always require a 12 liter slugger torque diesel engine

i-Auto has a different torque converter is what I'm reading, and seems to be smooth.

Not a different converter but rather they must have changed the tcc apply rpm (cvt locks up tcc almost immediately)
