Diagnosing a head gasket or cooling system leak ISB/RWP

I have faced this kind of issue in the past, and am facing it nowadays as well. There is a pin hole leakage somewhere.

I wish we had fluorescent dye and black lights easily available. That would make it really easy.

Our mechanic ustaads ( a lot of them) are of opinion that they can check with bare hands or naked eye in most of the cases. Hose is tight mean ni leakage. Pin hole leakage like in our cases cannot be detected this way. InshaAllah I'll go to the workshop tomorrow and ask him for final check as they owe me the fix. If they are unable to, I'll be visiting d motorsports

Update:

Yesterday, I visited Lodhi Autos again in morning,

At that moment, the hose pipe coming from head was leaking. Also another small one at carburetor. He fixed that by using some glue.
I told Arif mechanic over the call on Wednesday (2nd day after job) that water still reducing from the radiator and pushing into reservoir tank. He was reluctant and said to change radiator cap even though it was my 3rd cap.

Anyways he fixed it as per him. I told him it looks headgasket to me, to which he said "Mere pas weham you ka ilaj nahi hai, kahin bhi dikha den headgasket ka masla hua to main zimedar"

I went straight to Dmotorsports in G13. In 20km reservoir was from max position to overflow position. They found leaks around carburetor. Fixed them with new pipe and clamps, and another hose started leaking. We went with new hose pipes, also installed the thermostat and the new original cap, fixed water body pipe seal o ring). Finally tested and once it got hot, water started leaking from Carb area. Tested with compression tester. Around 125 psi across all cylinders. Cylinder 1 slightly, and cylinder 2 leaking compression into to coolant passages. On 2nd, water would throw out from radiator.

Confirmed failed head gasket job. Lodhi Autos have charged me for the facing around 4k and valve job extra.5k for Head gasket job. But it seems they didn't face it right. I'll be talking to them.

Car is at Dani bhai workshop. They will be opening it again and see what the problem is. Ill update here with the outcomes.

Don't have them open the car before you show the leakage to lodhi Autos. Else they won't accept.

That's what they have said.

He's saying to bring the car and they will look into it and rectify the fault, if any. I brought the car to them, yesterday. It was okay as per him but the problem persists. Clearly indicate his diagnosis skills.

Total bill was 22k out of which 5k for labour, 6-7k for machinist. They might do it for free now. But I have lost my trust with Arif. I'm sure he will do the cheap work now because it will be going off his pocket.

Ask him to visit the shop while they open the engine, and when arif will be proven wrong ask him to pay / refund the money.

I told him that car cannot be moved to your workshop because its losing too much water. He said he can go to location. i said okay its in g13 lets go. He started saying right now im away, and finally he can only work if car is brought to his workshop 🤣🤣

I'll consider this a bad experience and let the damage go after with another person at Lodhi autos. He won't pay back. He will just fix it and I don't have hopes from his work now.

Ps. One thing. The head gasket blown day after I got my exhaust manifold cut. I don't see a reason for it but maybe it's causing the problem?

Cultus 3 cyl preventive

If you guys notice the 3 cyl exhaust manifold - the Pakistani foundry forgot to chop off the pieces that connect all three ports together, this causes the manifold to expand irregularly sometimes causing burnt head gaskets due to ineffecient heat sinking capabilities and sometimes strips the manifold studs too. Remove the manifold and saw off the 2 big pieces that are there for no reason. It'll ease off the stress from the engine and the manifold too.

It came out as suspected.

Engine was opened. Head wasn't faced at all. This caused the premature gasket failure.

The oversized rings were used previously and it caused wear. Overall engine condition was not that good too.

So, as suggested by dani_kk, I'm going for a complete overhaul.

He will be starting it today

I will suggest you to take the head to arif, and atleast take the 6-7 k that you gave him for Machinist.

been through similar situation in my honda
overhaul lasted few months
could not figure who to to blame.machinist.the guy i bought parts from.or the mechanic.
ended up with kabli assembly which i resented not getting earlier.

I did plan to do so. Taking head to him might get me 6-7k. But going to dm motors to pick head , bringing it to him and then dropping it back gonna cost me 3kish itself, and also the time which I don't have except for the weekend due to my job.

No guarantee he would payback. He's a liar as it has been confirmed. He can lie again or just say No. Eventually he has to answer for it

When Arif declined, the first thing I did was calling the main number of Lodhi Autos.

He said "Dekhen ye arif ne kaam kia hai. Main to kuch nahi kar sakta, aggar kaam main koi masla hai to bilkul wo zimedar hai is cheez ka ap us se bat karain"

I said I came at Lodhi autos for its name. I didn't know arif or anyone. He was asked to look at my car. And the issue is still there.

He then gave me of another person number Raja Sarfaraz. But I knew the end result. They are only gonna insist to bring car to them. Dani bhai told me the same thing.

It's common for mechanics like him to do the poor job because usually such negligence doesn't fire back soon enough. But unlucky for them, i noticed it the next day.

Habib Ullah there is more competent. But I would advise anyone not to go there.

Block was opened for the first time as confirmed by the machinist. But there's wear. And yes it has potential to be fixed. Dani_kk advised overhaul against swap.

I will do so. But at the moment, my mind is toward overhaul completion, which is not finished yet. I hope I can get it today.
