2 stroke diesels have so much torque they can jump start a dead planet.

not many are 2 stroke anymore, most are usual DI 4 stroke diesels - and shifting the 18 spd is not too bad once you get the hang of it. you dont need to split the gears on lighter loads though.

yep, lots of em. - The average "amricann jurnatorr hinjan" - all are old detroit 2 strokes with superchargers the size of mehran engines

old GE railway traction and motive unit have them too

Hahahaha...,that's why those old railway engines have distinctive blower sound..,...anyhow I Don't like Japanese diesel engine dinstinctive clatter sound.....they all are same from 2c to hino engines

Just for my knowledge bro, didn't you get your vehicle checked at the time of purchase, especially considering that it is a diesel vehicle and that too almost 24 years old?
I mean a engine does not die overnight, if it was weak back then it should have shown some symptoms....

The only thing I quoted final was my labour - 50K. - this includes labour for replacing TC shaft seal, AT output shaft seal, 4x4 input and output shaft seals. Plus replacing all hosepipes and what not in the engine bay.

remaining 200 to 250k is the amount the owner eventually spend in such vehicle, when the engine is out - all the hose pipes and many other little things are addressed.
considering my last 1hd rebuild, only the new parts were for about 180K. used parts included rockers and rocker shaft which were for about 20k iirc
so 200k so far in parts only - 300k doesn't sound so bad.

The blowby on your engine isn't as bad that it can cause a runaway engine - though I also mentioned using an oil catch can.

plus, even with the blowby going into the turbo, is not going affect the turbo - the leaks it had before were probably due the internal turbo seals going bad. not because of the blowby.

How can blowby hurt the turbo real bad?

It has already been mentioned above that the only way you are going to see white/blue smoke from a turbodiesel is when the turbo cartridge is blown. The oil is leaking out the superhot turbine side straight into the downpipe - which will make blue/white smoke.

Any diesel engine burning oil in the combustion chambers will shoot black smoke as it still burns it like diesel fuel.

gaming the system by asking questions of free repair wont help you here.

You are giving a classic symptom of a bad turbocharger when you mentioned that your truck is blowing blue/white smoke and burned close to a litre of oil in half hour. This phenomenon only happens when the turbo is leaking oil into the exhaust.

the turbo sucking oil into the compressor will cause bad wear on the impeller blades, which is easy to identify.

make a catch can with some scrap metal and install that. it will prevent the turbo slugging oil. The catch can will catch liquid oil and only allow gas to vent to the turbo.

I agree with Delo being the best diesel oil so far.

I've tried other brands in between change oils and Ive experienced several differences in performance and noise, even oil fumes is more with other brands.

delo doesnt flash off that easily and has very stout characteristics when squeezed into bearings.

tough oil. I even use it in some oldschool hydraulic small systems.
