Dear members

Is it recommended to change the filter meshes inside the injection pump or just inspect them and clean them out and reuse. As couldnt find any refrence regarding the meshes replacement in the workshop manual. I am attaching pics for refrence . Input on this would be highly valued.

I am refering your old post for my question. My TLC 1992 12 valve engine has run 3Lac Km. engine sound pickup and fuel average (9km within city) is good. But it has a bit smoke from the engine oil filling cap and i hav heard that this smoke refers to engnine weakness. is it? or there can be other rerasons.

@syncview has worked on my TLC and there has been significnat improvement after valve setting and nozel replacement.

Yes cam will hammer shim instead of gently pushing them this will wear cam out quicker

I would like to know what sort of "chi" (inner energy) or kungfu master art you follow that you can actually isolate that your tappets are ticking.

Normal running 2C diesel makes 3 different ticking sounds, the pump itself, the injectors and the tappets. All very similar sound.

you will see some smoke from the oil cap as normal - it should go away if you raise rpm to 1500 or nearabout.

As long as your engine starts quick, runs sweet you are ok.

Well i am pretty sure that its the tappets
Because previous owner did fiddled with the tappets

The noise increases as the car is warmed up too

the tune up is done when the timing belt is changed out, at that time, coolant is exchanged (if time is up), pump timing is checked, tappets are adjusted as required. - I personally also changed valve seals too while at it - but that task is not possible for weed smoking disillusioned mechanics that are plenty around in Pakistan.
while at it - the ATF is also exchanged if time is up - usually I setup customers that their ATF change and other services time co-incide so they have lesser downtime.

belt is done every 100,000 kms. - meaning every 10th oil change.

Thats your choice to buy substandard products and pay triple labour cost.

I like my vehicles to be on road more than in shop hence even in pk i bought proper genuine parts. Look beyond parchoon di hatti.

My cars prime pump becomes soft every time i start the car.becomes hard again after 2-3 primes..is it normal ??

your alignment is off - the vehicle is either cross cambered or the caster is whacked up - or getting thrown off as the vehicle torques hard (e.g. bad bushings or joints) if this is happening over a very short distance.

Go to a proper alignment place and have it dialed in - RHD vehicles will slowly drift across to left over a km distance if the steer wheel is not controlled - This is done for safety and road crown purpose. You can dial it back to zero - but the vehicle acts squirrely with that. - This is setup with caster only.

The exact opposite happens to LHD vehicles - they drift to the right themselves over a longer distance.
