hot start issue some time refer to the injector pump weak rotor and head ,,,,, check it only after exhausting all other options ,,,,,, one by one check all other things like injection timing , injector poping pressure , CSD plunger , valve clearance , battery condition and starter motor ,,,,,diesel fuel is think at cold temp and become thin when it gets hot ,,,, at cold engine starts well because thick fuel wont leak from injector pump rotor and head ,,,, when it gets hot it tends to leak and thus casing low head pressure ,,,,, that why it take lot of cranks when engine is hot ,,,,,, i remember last ramzan i was on my way back to home while i was coming from outstation ,,,,,, i force to stop because of fasting time,,,,,, and on road side hotel i spotted an open hood kia sportage filled with 2C engine ,,,,, i go there to check it and in the mean while a mechanic also arrive ,,,,, he already have a pepsi bottle full of water with him and start pouring water on injector pump head ,,,,,, while saying ,,,,,,, rotor weak haa thanda ho jaya gaa to start ho jaya gaa ,,,,,, i try to stop him but useless ,,,,,, any how it is never ever recommended to quench any kind of metal unless your intention is to temper it ,,,,,, his logic behind was that a weak rotor/head starts leaking pressure inside pump body and thus causing hot start problems ,,,,, this must be your last check point ,,,,,
