The pump specification sheet has this pressure too, its usually about 40-42 psi and is set by a hammer but you need a pressure gauge on the pump body before the outlet port, basically an adapter. It also plays a vital part in the advance curve of the pump.

the local hack mechanics call themselves ustaads - usually they are bone headed and do not want to know they are making mistakes.

@Xulfiqar, sir today i have got the fans to auto, now fans are working in two speeds, when i switch on ac the fan is on low speed and when fan needs to cool down the engine at nearly 45% of heat gauge the speed is high. i think its normal as u discussed it in some other thread as well, will check this for a week and then pour coolant in the system.

now the problem is how do i ascertain that thermostat valve is fitted in my car or not ? when hot there is also pressure in the rubber pipes connecting engine and radiator (checked by pressing the pipes, it was hard to press).

glow plug indication/preheat indication timer is same when car is hot or cold even after fans being on auto, what to do ?

please suggest gear oil for my car - corolla 03, 2C.

power steering oil is little bit black and never changed (as far as i know at-least from last 7 yrs), going to change it tomorrow, shall i go for the normal/cheap power steering oil available or some other brand u'll suggest ?

the fans are working normal, thats how they work, their speed speed will also increase if the A/C comes under high load. The rubber pipes getting hard is normal as the system pressurizes to 14 psi pressure (regulated by radiator cap)

The thermostat in your engine is installed in the outlet of the water flange below the injection pump. You can remove the flange and verify.

for P/S fluid, you can use dexron type ATF in there or any brand power steering fluid.

i think T-stat is installed as CSD is also working fine, today i also oiled its springs.

please also tell me about the gear oil and glow plug long timer even when engine is hot.

check the coolant temperature sensor connection for the glow plug timer. If its disconnected the glow timer will work like the engine is cold. Also verify the original glow system is present and not a hack job.

its on the engine near the starter, its a 2 wire sensor like you find the EFI engines.

the encircled sensor is probably what u were saying, got it checked to a electriction today, he said its for heat gauge, checked it, only had one wire, he clipped it out and heat needle went to cold while engine was hot, means sensor is working but glow plug timer is not linked with it. what to do now ?

also checked thermostat valve, its present, mechanic checked it by taking out the rubber pipe below the diesel pump and inserting long n thin rod piece, it went inside little bit and then blocked, he said it means thermostat valve is there.

All glow plugs are attached in series and locate their supply wire where it's connects
There must be box it's called auto glow plug timer

the glow control coolant temperature sensor is two pin sensor and is a little more difficult to see. The glow plug black relay is controlled by the control box which is usually found near the glove box, it literally says - glow control on it.

The glow plug lamp in your dashboard has its positive from the output of the black glow plug relay and ground from the control box - that way if the power relay does not function the lamp does not work - and you know you have a fault.

yup checked all of the above thing's btw I rebuilt the whole engine myself done it a lot of time's but in the case of nissan I cant spare as much time I needed to briefly analyze it...... still missing those days when I was free and able to tackle these little but major issue's...

Update... the clacking noise at idle gone

Replaced injector pipes... one was from some toyota.. td27 own pipes with clamps... and its a sweet nissan diesel

little update - I just remembered this, The Indus Motors cow and later models always had this issue, they never installed the coolant sensor - and used 11V glow plugs in their engines which require long glow.

The older models from Japan have them.

In Mazda r2 engine it's installed under the water hose outlet and near temperature sensors

It's a thermal resistor which measure coolant temperature
It's max value when cold is 2k ohm and when hot min 0.86k ohm (on my mazda and nissan both have same values) and it's attached to glow plug timer so when your turn on switch the timer will keep glow plugs on according to the value of resistor and if it's coolant is hot so value will be near or under 1k and the timer will on glow plugs for short time and if it's cold the value will 2k and the time will on for the max time settings which could be between 10 to 20 seconds

Thank GOD u updated it otherwise i would have eaten up my electrician's brain to make the coolant sensor working

anyway i have just captured the close-up pics of the sensor for verification, it has only one wire so it means now my system is working fine.

sir today i got P/S fluid changed to ZIC P/S oil, it took only 0.4 litres and there is not even a slight difference in the power steering itself. previous oil was little black and probably never changed.

now please suggest coolant for 2C and water mixing ratio.
