the CSD will not function without the thermostat valve. You may need to reclean the CSD with some more acid, dont remove the pump, simply use a funnel and pipe and pour in some battery water so that it goes into the pipe fittings and comes out, let it sit and flush with water/soda mix - reconnect the lines and retest.

okay sir will do it tomorrow IN SHAA ALLAH, please shed some more light on thermostat valve, people say the new ones available in market are not good ones and may not work properly thus overheating the engine, what do u say ? shall i get a new one ? or one from scrap yard ?

You want to know real problems?? Mitsi GDI - cylinder coke up - repair = disassemble and repair whole engine. Toyota 2AZ-FE cylinder head bolts - they strip out from the block. Repair - new steel thread bosses.

Toyota 2C is a cheesecake engine, repairable with basic workshop tools. When pulled in for timing belt service, adjust valve clearances, replace water pump and thermostat, replace valve seals, balance out injectors, assemble back with correct dial indicator.

Back in service for another long period of time.

finally i got my pump timed with a dial gauge with very kind help of a pakwheeler Rameez @raftechs901, thank you so much bro

sir we did not disengage the CSD as engine was already hot and CSD was working little bit.
pump was originally 0.05mm and we timed it to 0.84mm.

now it has become such an awesome machine, very smooth, powerful, economical, no black smoke, no hot or cold start issue any more and probably engine has also stopped reducing oil.

@xulfiqar, mechanics usually take out this pipe to check the blow, they put finger on it and rev the car and if air comes out with pressure they say it needs overhaul but i didn't go for it as per your title post.

my car was previously reducing oil as white air was coming out of this pipe but now after timing it with dial gauge air is clean, checked it at 1800 rpm.

is it okay ? should air move in this pipe or not ?

with correct injection timing your engine will not burn oil and have solid compression to work, You will also note that the engine oil will not be very dark as the compression rings will not allow any compression leak as the combustion event is happening at the perfect timing.

the air is normal - its the air under the pistons moving around. Under high rpm and sealed condition the air is under suction and will be sucked into the air manifold to be used as

1 - air for combustion
2 - oil source for intake valve guides.

Now that you have experienced a good running Toyota 2C, go ahead and try a Nissan CD17 or CD20, They are more refined. Then go try a VW 1.6 TD (its like is a very small sized guy that kick punch really really hard)

@xulfiqar I have the same issue with my CSD, can I take it out from the Injection Pump without any issues of leaking diesel from the I/P? while injection pump is installed in engine?

The injection pump is filled to the top with diesel fuel.

A tube where one of the hoses go on the CDS has been eaten away by rust and can't install a tube anymore, so the hose has been diverted away from the CSD.

So my I/P in in "cold" state at all times. Looks like I'll just leave it as it is for now..

In addition, some guys in the colder regions have taken out the ACSD and put a covering plate.

you can completely eliminate the CSD like the picture as long as the pump's internal camplate is kept in neutral position. the CSD holds it advanced when cold.

sir i have just started experiencing a good running 2C and m enjoying it alot, before it was badly ustaadified !! would love to drive Nissan and VW but not own them because of unavailability of qualified and proper mechanics, technicians etc and it gets real pain to set it as per company specs once disturbed maybe because of all mechanics mentality 'bhai hum bachpan se kaam kar rahay hain humain tajarba hai aur apki theory hamaray tajarbay se match nai karti'

now coming to point, sir tomorrow m going to get my gear work done, will also get gear's oil changed, please suggest suitable oil for it.

Your tajarba is worthless if you dont know what theory its based on. btw wheres the theory part in this? Its the manufacturer telling you how to adjust it.

i know, but its useless to argue, few mechanics have even denied to work on my car as i asked them how to do it because what their ustaad taught them was better then what manufacturer says.

thats why all the diesels in Pakistan dont last beyond 100,000 kms according to their logic, they also dont know about TTY bolts.

speaking of which I have a little story to share, a freind of mine owns the import agreement of "cherry" branded gaskets in Pakistan. They do actually come from Japan, There were a lot of 1KZ and 1KD ones being sold here and the complaint was that cherry gaskets are crap.

Two gents from Japan came over and had a little tour of some workshops to see why they are getting such complaints. They were literally amazed out of their heads to see that the mechanics were reusing the headbolts and even stacking washers under them to compensate for the stretch. No wonder the gaskets were leaking.

Upon asking - the typical ustaad retort - doosray item pe ilzaam laga rahay hain apni cheez ko bachanay ke liye. LOL....

Them japanese gents literally were laughing their heads off right there, they showed the toyota literature to them and still ALL the ustaads were saying its bogus..

You mean torque to yield bolts and Mazda R2. RF engines use these bolts and if I'm not wrong Nissan td too
