Diesel engine Oil grade changing

I bought a nissan d21 hardbody with qd32, previous owner was using rimula R2 20W-50 (Truckoin wala oil) in it, engine seems to be in good condition, no water level drop, no blow...
My Question is should i go for 15W-40, in good brand or stick with that truckoin wala oil..??
previous owner was using this gardhaaa hoillllllll from last 2.5 years almost...

Suggestion will be appreciated.

If it's not consuming any oil, then 10w40 is the best grade for our environment. You won't have any problem starting the car in winters, and it'll provide adequate protection in summers too.

I had bought it yesterday, the boy said oil and pani kam hua to wapis dy dijea ga, overall tgere is no blow in engine, but it was running on this 20W-50 R2 since 2017, The only thing which bothers.

Well, then try driving the car for 5000kms with 20w50, and check for oil consumption every 1000kms. Thick oil can minimize oil consumption, but it doesn't completely eliminate it. So if after 5000kms the car has reduced a large bit of oil, you know to stick with this grade. If it doesn't consume any oil, then switch to 10w40.
