Diesel Surf 1KZ VS Petrol Surf 3RZ

Dear Bros, Kindly help me out in deciding best Surf buy. Now a days I am looking for Surf 1997-1999 model both in Petrol 3RZ and 1KZ.

Just to add, I kept Diesel variant 1KZ with me for 4 years and satisfied with it. Now Just considering Petrol variant as well...

My general usage is within city day to day but being a frequent traveler, I have to go on long routes after two months or So.

Usually I traveled between (Lahore - Karachi) which mostly involves Motorway. Also twice in a Year on northern areas.

Now at the moment, I have two options 1 is 1997 model Diesel 1KZ and other one is also 1997 Model 3RZ petrol variant. Condition of both vehicles are almost same and also lies almost in same bracket range.

Keeping in view the usage, what will be the best option for me?

And Yes both are with Auto Transmission...

Diesel is good. Petrol will b heavy on fuel and not as fun as 1kz.

After keeping 1KZ surf for 4 years, I think 3RZ 2.7 will disappoint you in terms of acceleration and overall comfort as its without VVT-i and also very old and obsolete. While 1KZ is still very good, 5VZ 3.4l will be better but its a fuel guzzler for sure as it'll give you 5-7 in city if well maintained. If i were you, I would've gone with the 1KZ.

Stay away from 2700cc petrol, especially since you have experienced 1KZ...

Respected PW members. I am also looking to buy a clean Surf. but I guess I m too late as now the prices are sky rocketing and people asking more ridiculous prices... doubling the profits. I will be grateful if any 1 here can help in pointing out some genuine deal. 1997/ 2001 shape or 2002 onwards in a reasonable price with genuine condition.
