Difference B/W 1.3L & 1.5L Engine

This question may look like a dumb query but I want to know that in Honda City and Toyota Yaris, there are two variants of engines i.e. 1.3L & 1.5L but by size and looks they look very similar to each other so is there any machanical difference between them or its just a gimmik or overclocked version of 1.3L engine which forcefully generate more power by doing extra or hard work rather than an actual big engine. Same I see in bikes like Honda 125 and Honda 150 that sizes are same, just numbers are different.

Please dont taunt if someone thinks this is below basic question.

1.5L bigger engine, lesser load, better performance on highways..
and 1.5L ATIV X yaris also has more features than the 1.3 L engine Yaris GLI or something.

Same goes for City 1.5 Aspire.

I think he's asking about mechanical difference. Meaning that they both have same bolt on fitting in engine bay?

exactly. i am not talking about features or one variant with another. i am just talking about that how same size engine with same fittings could produce more power. is it just overclocking and forcefully generating more power by putting more load on it or there is actual some machinal changes between both engines. because usually if we see then 2.0L is considerablly bigger than 1.3L engine. But 1.3L and 1.5L are very same by in size and look and fitting in engine bay.

Well it's the total engine piston displacement volume of 4 cylinders is 1.3 / 1.5 liter, with a difference of only 0.2 liter and 0.05 liter in each cylinder. The size difference is also very small hence the outer body of 1.5 liter engine is slightly bigger and heavier, but not noticeable as most outer covers and mountings are similar (compatible to larger size) to adjust both sizes in engine bay.
You will see a clear difference in size of 0.8L or 1.5 liter engine.

Similarly Honda CB 150 has bore and stroke of 57.3 x 57.8 mm compare to 56.5 x 49.5mm of CG125, which is only 0.8 mm larger in bore dia and 8.3mm larger in length. So if you physically measure the size of 2, CB150 will be slightly bigger than CG125.

In case of City 1.3 and 1.5 there is a difference of just the crank shaft. plus maybe the ECU and injectors. nothing else. same body and everything else.

mind it this is not just gossip.

keeping the parts similar is convenient for the manufacturer.

crank has a larger radius therefore more displacement with the same pistons.
