nice thread well i dont know such about these USDM JDM PDM or blah blah DM
i came to know one thing that is PDM has Showroom invoice and sale certificate where as JDM and USDM has Shipment or tohan lulz main difference...
being serious i agree with storm,when it comes to handling work while even fitting the imported things in assembling a car there pakistani engineers technician being so called professional they lack in somewhere as compare to japnese engineers and technicians, also there cars and cars driver dont preffer CNG LPG, in japan lulz thats why we get there crap as brand new even on 40thousand km ran engine

Well the price of 2million is quite justified if we see a crappy 1.3 underpowed GLi with absolutely nothing installed init other then a mp3 player and that too for 1.5 Million as a tag price. Isnt it?

Still we should be thankful to Honda people that they didnt installed some old 1.5L just to showcase an EXi unlike rolla people who can even install a 1 litre and call it "corolla JUNIOR" just to attract 1L car market.

Well the main difference as every one else mentioned is the safety feature i-e the airbags.
PDM Civic is offering only 2 front airbags where as in JDM they are offering curtain type airbags aswell.
Almost 90% parts are imported. (But as you said that the GM was saying that 100% parts are imported so he may be right)
Next comes the assembly line where the machines are same but the labour is not upto the mark and that is the second thing after the airbag thing, where we lag behind.
The labour and then the quality check standards are very low if compared with JDM,s QC standards.

Civic has a much better crash protection then 2nd gen vitz.

The fit/finish is inferior to JDM but its not noticeable by a person who has not driven a JDM.

Collision testing should be identical.

GLI is definitely under power, and you will feel it especially when someone overtakes you with a EE90 SE with a 5AFE or a 1996 EXI.

Sir not much people are in need of these things.

I think there was a 4wd variant of 7th gen JDM Civic not offered in this generation.

Ofcorse i have driven, The new and old aswell. In acceleration the Gli sucks big time and if we give it some time to gain speed then it feels smooth and thats the best part of it.

What about the door panels etc.? I thought the doors etc. were made locally? I don't think the CKD kits they get here include most body parts. No?

Not at all. only Corolla has Suzuki manufacture body parts here as far as i know. Otherwise Civic and City have all the stuff imported from Thailand.

while reading this post , many members have misconceptions regarding PDM civic , its assembling or Quality Control.
Pakistani assembled unit is not less than any other countrie's assembled unit in terms of quality.
