Currently i am building digital dashboard for my ALTO (My first DIY). I have completed simulation prototype. Next step is building hardware.
The display is LCD with some micro controller based.
It will look like as given here.

As shown, unit will show following car parameters.
1-RPM of engine both in digital and bars formats.
2-vehicle speed in KM/h
3-Current gear ratio (1~5, N,R)
4-Battery voltage
5-Indoor car cabin temperature
6-Remaining CNG level (on scale of 1-100%) [roughly]
7-Some info to as not over driven in low gear, not mess up clutch when hand break is pulled up. high RPM warning etc................more may be later
My plan is to use same CNG sensor as for stock level indicator(4 LED with CNG/gasoline switch).
8- More...........? later!
For RPM, to get RPM signal from distributor.
Custom current gear read hardware.
For speed sensor???:
For speed measurement , I Want help from DIY-ians, please.
Can some one tell me please what type of built in stock vehicle speed sensor( VSS) is?. How many pulses it produces for one tyre revolution so that i can use same VSS sensor in my DIY?.
Thanks to @Xulfiqar for giving info about hall sensors/Speed sensor
Update: 24 Dec
Now time to install instrument cluster in My Alto!
So need following info from DIY-ians/viewers:
What colors are of following wires below steering so that I can get required signals easy without putting much time on wire tracing?
-
A wire that goes to ignition coil for (I need this for RPM measurement)
-
A wire that contains hall sensor output signal (VSS sensor), (speed measurement)
-
A wire that comes from CNG sensor. As the near CNG kit the wire color is white.
About LCD Display:
The picture of LCD Display is given here.

The display module size is
93.0 X 70.0 X 14mm and viewing size is about 38x70 mm.
About Display Mounting:
Can some give me suggestion/opinion about the display mounting way and place on dashboard?
How to place LCD on dashboard so as to nice looking?
Regards;
