Well in that case it seems its sensor need little adjustment.
There can only be two possibilities.
First open the fuel tank and check the sensor.
And if sensor is OK, then it might be the faulty needle. And to check needle, you have to open the cluster (which I don’t recommend).
However since you know well the difference of its actual & displayed readings, then its better to keep it running rather than fixing it. Because once fuel tank is open, mechanic will show something more discrete which needs attention or extra expense.
And on the otherside the meter fixing guys usually breaks 1-2 plastic clips while fixing the meter which seems very odd and will rattle with the vibrations while driving.
So better leave it as it is. Rest is your choice.
