Digits in a digital meters looks good but these are difficult to read because these have to be actually read from left to right "1 2 9 kmph" whereas with just a glance at the anolog meter we can make out the speed. Our mind interprets anolog meters or watches faster than the digital meters or digital watches.
With lot many memories attached with the 80s, one is this science of digits, Even some versions of charade 84 had a digital meter while lancer and galant were more prominent. As most of the watch makers returned back to anolog (even casio now has anolog watches when they started business with digital ones), these digital meter were also discarded and analog returned. Yes when accurate read out is required, no match to digital.Like stop watches where 1/100th a sec counts. But while driving a car that much accurate readout is not required neither the driver has the time to "read" the speed. just a glance...and that all ...eyes back on road again.
Now why honda opted for a 25 years old redundent technology...better know to them.
And why you want to...yes u said they look fantastic. But they are not practical
