Yes thata possible too. But i guess the correct inside engine temp will be depicted by the water coming out.

You are right its much easier though. 7 segment display is fine. I just want to keep an eye on any abnormality in engine temperature (if radiator looses water etc).

Well, In this case, put washer sensor on water out point bolt. Where place exactly u put the display?

Might be near the steering, below it or in the right most corner of the dashboard. I will however would like to add a feature in it that if the temp crosses a certain value, the instrument beeps.

oK , Well alaram/ beep funtion can be added easily in design. Let you start. I am here to help you.
Think about how u make display box?
Mostly time taking activity!
This can be done with some plastic housing for this...

I have seen some digital temp sensor with LCDs on aliexpress.com, cost is about 500 PKR including shipping. They might not have the beep feature though

RS 500 including shipment! Then would be very cheap. But I think not the case. Either there are some min quantity order requirement or some hidden charges if u order single piece.
As i know these kind of websites from china mostly do whole sale selling.
They don't ship single piece or in other case price very high.
You can try by giving order if it is really RS 500 including shipment charges.

Hello, i also designed digital CNG switch.... prototype and its coming soon for commercial use... same functionality with cng low alert via buzzer. . One button Programmable auto cng to petrol switch when cng low... i'll be adding more feature in this small PIC with GLCD.. if you have any other ideas to be added in it plz comment. and yes PIC is great :)

I have made digital RPM meter, digital CNG meter and temperature meter and battery voltage meter for my Alto. The display can be selected (RPM,CNG,temperature and battery voltage)with push button installed on display.

I will let you know when I want it, abhi budget urr gya hai, I plan to have engine temp, rpm , and batt voltage, there is a compartment in my car that has its door broken, I want to fit the screen there and hide the circuitry elsewhere
