CAN ANY BODY INFORM ME ABOUT DISTANCE FROM SKURDU TO DEOSAI IN KM & TIME. CAN IN ONE DAY WE TAKE LOOK INTO DEOSAI ?

TJ there are two ways to enter Deosai.

One is from Astore and the other one is from Skardu. From Astore to Chilum Choki is 52Km/3Hrs and here upto Sheosar Lake Deosai is ~20Km/1.5 Hrs. From Sheosar Lake Deosai, the jeep road leads to Skardu and it is ~35Km/3Hrs from Sheosar to Skardu.

It’s not far in terms of Kilo Meters, however the track is a constant incline. One can comfortably reach DeoSai from Skardu in 2.25Hrs, it will be another 30min drive to bara pani (the famous deosai bridge shown in pictures) & it would be another 45min drive till Shousar lake.

If you have covered Khaplu & Askolay then I would recommend to change your route, instead of coming back to Skardu U can go to Rama via Astore, beautiful place to visit. Next Day U can take the route of Astore-Jaglot then you can go either way Gilgit or Chilas.

You can easily make a trip from Skardu to Deo Sai in one day.

Hire a 4x4 from Skardu.It will take 45 mins to reach Sat Para Lake.Till lake its a metal road.Than you will reach Deo Sai on a Jeep trek (Via Ali Malik Pass) & it will take you about 2.5 Hours from Lake to Deo Sai (Bara Pani Bridge) Have some tea break there & ask you driver to take you into Deo Sai Park Till Scheosar Lake (Mid of Deo Sai) Spend some time there & than return all the way to Skardu.

If you want to go to Astore you can also continue the Journey from Schosar Lake till Chilam Chowki & Than Astore.Its another 3 to 4 hours drive.Half on Jeep trek & Half on Metal Road.

A Hidden Lake (Known as Ali Malik Lake) its near Bara Pani Check post.One have to walk for 1.5 Hours from that post.

Deosai has over 30 small and big hidden lakes. you do it right to explore the unexplore part. Otherwise most of the people only think that Sheosar is the only lake at Deosai

deosai is not far from skardu,it takes hour or two and then u enter into deosai plains and then then u will travel 4 to 5 hrs in deosai after which u will enter Astore District with its first village Chillam...DOnt forget to go RAMA ,i love that place

Is there any tent accommodation in Deosai between Astor and Skardu?
