DIY: Cola Rust Removal

So they say that Pepsi and Coke are one of the best rust removing agents, I tried to give it a shot and see if it really works.. I had a console with two plates of metal really rusted and it was bothering me so I took those out and did the experiment on them.

Here are some pictures:

This is what it looked like before.. metal plates covered with rust:

You will need a bucket, and some cola:

submerge the rusty metal in the cola and leave overnight:

The cola didn't work as magically as I'd expected but it did react with the rust and loosened it up

You can see the amount of rust left behind in the cola:

This is how the plates looked after a bit of sanding:

And i decided to use some spray paint:

And put them back on the console:

dont take tension almost 50% of these cola in market are fake :ponly take tension what happen we drink fake cola:d

@Orge: yes, need to flush out our radiators but not too often or the metal will corrode.

use synthetic viniger or sweep toilet wash instead of cola.will cost less and remove rust much better.

You can also use cola for removing corrosion from car battery terminals

agar yay germany ki coke hoti to waqi kaam karti.. yahan ki coke is like water compared to thers.
i had two sips and got a sore throat itni strong hoti hai

@luckybilal: yeah, that's a very useful tip.. a lot of car/electrical trouble is caused by the corrosion on the terminals.. this is a simple solution..

@nfssaad: That has to do with the difference in taste preferences between the people of Europe and the sub continent.. I've had coke in Europe too, it tasted the same to me

thats good.. atleast coke can remove the rust inside us as well just kidding
