Its Action Time!
First of all you need to remove the plastic trim below the steering wheel for better access to the BCM (body control module).
- Locate this blue connector on the upper right corner of BCM. For your better understanding, take a look here
- Disconnect the connector. And it looks like this
- The ambient temperature sensor has 2 wires. 1st=yellow/BLACK strip 2nd=yellow/RED strip. Take a look.
- You will find many empty slots in this connector, but we need to pin 2 empty slots to get voltage/signals for ambient temperature sensor. Highlighted in the pic.
- You need to pin/connect yellow/BLACK strip wire from the sensor into the slot pointed by BLACK arrow. (1st slot)
- And pin/connect yellow/RED strip wire from the sensor into the slot pointed by RED arrow. (3rd slot).
- Baqi the clock in the dash is just plug & play, no need to alter anything there, but you'll get temp & fuel avg readings after connecting the sensor from BCM.
Above all are the MAIN points to consider.
Rest its a plain installation job, extending & then routing wiring for the sensor, if you want to place it on OEM location. Some people also install the temp sensor inside the cabin under the dash near the BCM, so they get the temp readings of cabin instead of outside temp.
I am going to show you guys all the process in next post.
