So i wanted a laptop sleeve, not a carry case, but a sleeve to protect my laptop from scratches and put it in my everyday bag, to carry it to and from my dorm to the university.
If you can't buy it, build it !
that's how we roll !
No sleeves were available at any store in karachi that fit my laptop. Either too big or too small being impractical. So i decided to make my own. here goes .
Items required :-
1. Leather
2. Zipper
3. Sewing machine
4. Scissor
5. Newspaper
6. Leather polish
7. Polishing brush
Step 1 : layout a piece of newspaper, and trace out your laptop, make sure to leave 1cm extra on each side to attach the zipper.

I had the 2 kinds of leather available to me sheep skin ( soft but delicate ) OR cow hide ( tough and can handle a little abuse). I choose the latter.
Step 2 :
Use the newspaper as a template and cut out the piece of leather. Make sure to inspect the leather carefully from both sides for any defects.

Step 3 : Test out the piece you cut on your laptop, leaving enough on all sides for sowing.

Step 4 : Take out your mothers old sowing machine, and start attaching the zipper, leave extra zipper on both ends.

Step 5 :
Attach a 1 inch wide piece of leather along the top side of the sleeve, as can be seen in the image below. This is a major flaw i noticed in many bag available in the market. If the extra piece is not attached, the zip runner will scratch the laptop sides.

Step 6 :
Cut out the extra zipper and attach it firmly with another small piece of leather inside to secure it.
Step 7 : Cut out any loose threads and clean it with a dry cloth.
test fit it again. It is still unpolished.

Step 8 :
Apply leather polish with a clean cloth in a circular manner.
Step 9 : Leave it in the sun for a few hours to let the polish spreadout evenly.
Step 10 : Use a polishing brush to give it a little shine.
and there you go, one perfectly fit Laptop sleeve !
