DIY - Plane Engine Cleaning

Decided to do a tiny DIY of my remote control air plane engine. I have had it since 2001 and never cleaned it , now i gave it to my son.We rebuilt the whole plane. The whole plane was looking brand new only the engine was old and dirty.

Tools used:

Used to clean - Washing powder disolved in water

great job bro, you can improve its looks even more with brasso. btw where do you fly it, i used to have two electrics, one airplane and one chopper and both had crashes due to the wind and high trees

Fuel powered ones are only for more experienced users , thing here and there always get loose after 1-2 flights.
I fly them in open parks and big parking places.

Well i have a whole room full of different rc cars , planes , helis , trucks , boats. these things get dirty in no time.
I use a toothbrush (a spare one , not my own lol:D) dip it continuously in petrol , scrub off the dirt and then wipe off with some piece of clothe.

nopes it evaporates instantly, though it will affect plastics

None of my cars are complete ready to run ATM (crashed badly) waiting for new parts to arrive

Petrol can effect the wiring of the servos and etc , only apply petrol of metal parts , plastic will get soft and break easily. Use soap and water on plastic

Yes you can custom make one out of plywood , you can find printable blueprints with correct dimensions on the web. But some experience is needed to fit engine , servos , ailerons etc.

what sort of fuel do they use? normal petrol or matti ka tel?

these are 2 strokes, they use petroil

I think these things use petrol+nitro fuel mixture! Once i asked from hoby loby and thy said its fuel cost 500 per liter
