WOW ...its so informative post.. am going to try it on my Car today
did it on my civic 3 months before and gor positive results.............nice increment in the average of CNG.Before: 55kg cylinder when full, goes 80 kms. After: 55 kg cylinder when full. goes 100 kms complete.........nice tweak...........
Hmm I was thinking of trying this method again so replying to a old thread. Might be useful for new members as this gives very nice results...
abey kia badmashi hai yeh..
its pretty infomative n it works i have tried it but it mess up in idling in auto transy
Nice Info!
yesterday i took out old Denso plugs from old spares and experimented with side-gapping on a 1980 Corolla 4k motor. The results are good. The throttle response time seems somewhat better and much stable idling.
Will update on its effects on mileage.
informative thread ! also i want to ask what about iridiums and platinums ? can we do side gapping with them ?
NYc DIY
how did u cut that metal piece.?? is there any other way of cutting them without grinder??(A)
Gonna give it a try....
Sent from my TCL A909 using Tapatalk 2
i gave my santros platinum plugs a try. i didnt used any grinder since i didnt had one, instead i used a file to brush out the desired amount of metal. felt a slight difference no big deal. have to see if average gets any better...
theoretically I foresee a glitch in this reworking of tradition spark plug tip. The exposed area of the tip is shortened and in case of fouling the sorter area would be masked by carbon that is resistant to conduction of charge, hence demand for higher voltage would arise that potentially lead to strain on electronics (coils etc) and their early damage. Further discussion on this aspect would be helpful.
can anyone guide me where i can buy gapping tool in isb?
Side gapping spark plugs has been use in racing for years to increase horsepower by unshrouding the spark thus allowing the flame created to propagate faster resulting in a more complete burning of the fuel/air mix. Many manufacturers offer plugs deemed racing plugs that are side gapped but at inflated costs.
