The housing is built for a 60w bulb, not a 100w, it will melt it for sure, the first item to melt is the little bulb reflector in front of the bulb.
The second item to melt would be the wiring and switch.
Whoever says that it wont melt, is being economical with the truth.
For ampacity
55w x 2 = 110w
Divide by 14 (running v)
We get 8.5 amps
100x2 means 200 would mean 14.2 amps which is abt a 75% increase in load. (You really think a car manufacturer will give you a 75% increase tolerance in their factory wiring?)
