Do I get car file?

Asalam-O-Alaikum

I would like to ask that do I get the car file back after registration with the smart card or not?
Car registered in Lahore. I only received the smart card via TCS and nothing else.

Your documents should be TCS’d to your registered address followed by smart card. Excise does not keep your documents with them.

Check with excise. Your car’s file would’ve been sent via TCS and they must have a tracking # against your file. Do some khawari and go fo the excise office you went to get your work done.

Whichever office you selected while applying through epay. Maybe I’m assuming too much here haha. Explain your case a bit? New registration? Pre-owned? Applied through epay?

It's Honda Vezel. Bought it in 2019 and belongs to my uncle. Received the smart card a few months after registration but never received the file and got my know about it now when trying to sell it. Seems to be the mistake on our part. But need the file if I need to sell it. Registered through an agent

Bro you’re in for an awakening. Dua karo that youre able to recover the file because if i get this right, you dont have the import file with you either, right? Try with the agent because i know for sure excise does not keep the file.

I asked the motors where I bought the car from and they are asking for 150k for duplicate file which is a bit too much for a 2019 registered car.

Assuming you’ll not be able to recover the file, your next steps are to find a guy who can get you a duplicate customs file from karachi customs. I hope you have the pictures of the import file, it will have the name of the custom clearance agent. If not, be ready to cough up anything from 100-200k. Uskay baad 6-12 months ki timeline aur tab bhi youre not 100% sure if you’ll get the file. It also negatively effects your car value by 20-30%.
