Dear All,
I have a Honda City 09. Well my problem is that my cars engine sounds as if a charade diesel is idling. Back in 09, 2 months after the delivery, I had a feeling for the same reason that the tappets are a bit loose. Consulted 03 honda Pit-stops and Service centers in this regard but all said that its the sound of the injectors plunging in every intake stroke.
Even i realized that loose tappet sound has to be a bit more solid and should be coming from the cam cover. Also demo'd some more City's parked in the service centres. All sounded the same as mine.
Kher. This coming weekend, I am planning to get the car's oil changed for the first time (I know, i know.....dont ask why it took me 1.7 years to hit 5K odo...kept it pretty much parked all the time). So my question is, should i strongly express my concerns about the engine noise to Honda ppl. Or is it normal?? Coz these authorized workshops need a bahana to confuse the customer.
I have heard quite some EFIs, you dont even know the engine is start standing 5 meters away unless a radiator fan starts. NON of them sound that loud when idling or throttling as this city???
Awaiting some helpful replies.
Regards.
