Do people buy online from Japan? From Where?

I recently made a talk with a dealer who import car from Japan. Upon discussion, he told me the site ICMJapan from where he buy cars online.

How someone can buy a car online (of 20lac+) without even inspecting it?

Is it really? Can we buy online? If yes from which trusted site?

Yes, you can because you are provided with an authentic auction sheet of the car (which explains it's condition).
Also, it's not as simple as buying something off of Amazon or eBay.

from which sites? Can I involve auction online? My uncle in Japan told me that never buy a car from Japan until you inspect them because of the fraud. I was considering ICM Japan, introduced by my colleague but my decision to not work with them, may be was right???

There are auction houses in Japan that inspects the cars before their shipment. The sheet is then passed to the online auction sites, which then enlist the details and provide them to the potential bidders. Once the bidding is over after a specific timing, the person with the highest bid gets the car. The most important thing is that you have to deposit around $1,000 in the site’s bank before bidding, if you fail your bid then the money will be simply deposited back into your account.

However, some people still import cars without auction verification, which means that car will have no auction inspection details before its shipment to Pak. Although, such cars maybe feasible for self-use as others may frown and have doubts due to the absence of an auction sheet.

However, this written info may be outdated as I haven't kept up with the trend of imports. I hope that experts could give you a more updated, in-depth answer to your question.

to import a car from an auction house you need verifiable source of money transfer.

Then a valid passport of an expat relative of yours with banking channel money trail.

His passport will be required at the time of vehicle clearance from customs in Pakistan

Avoid icm and mdk plz, they are just middle pak companies who provide u auction access. As capsat pointed out import conditions/rules, after you can fulfill them, then only think of importing but through a better company. You dnt want to end up paying hidden costs.
If its too good to be true, it aint true.

I am still finding some good websites, and I got the lead. This is association in Japan, and You should do business with members of them only., and use safe trade, to transfer the money. (it's additional $100 fee). Your money will be safe and secure. The only thing remains is the Car, which you can only inspect when it will arrive in Pakistan. May be someone can handle this process too.

I have already bought the car via my own relative, contacted today with the custom agent, now arranging passport for that car. as pointed out @capsat you need an expat, Further these custom agents can provide and handle the passport and other procedures by themselves. It's Mira ES 2018 which I am importing.

Just for the people who want to start, as told me too, you should start with lower value 660cc and then go above.

IMO, SBT Japan https://www.sbtjapan.com/ and MDK Japan https://www.mdkjapan.com/ are some of the reputed sites to buy cars, however, these do not deal with individual customers (as far as my personal experience with SBT Japan is concerned. I had visited their office in Islamabad back in 2018, when I intended to import one, and they had declined / regretted to my request; me being an individual).

When I imported my Vitz, I imported it solely based on auction grade and auction sheet, and when I received my car from Tarnol, Islamabad, I exactly met my expectations (rather exceeded them).

I guess NO. Of course you can buy, and it will even come to Pakistan, at Karachi port, etc., but you won't be able to get it cleared from the Customs Department.
