As the title suggests.. does it work? My new civic will be delivered this week and I ordered the factory fitted navigation system but i don't know if the navigation system will be loaded with local maps. Any one using it in RWP/ISB area?

ofcourse it does to clear ur douibts go check a vehicle on display as I tried an oriel with factory nav at my time.Although quality of colors and menu is avg :S
Agreed. They quote the whole setup for 80K. And i think in 80K one can get a 5 x better setup.
^^ I paid 40k extra for that not 80 (maybe they adjusted the default indash 6 cd changer in that price to make it 40k?).
back to the original question, 1- Is it Chinese built? howz the quality?2- are these local maps from google? how can we update these maps.?3- how about "driving directions" feature?
chinese good qualityits loaded with navigational maps, though not very comprehensive but still impressive
^^ who supply these maps to honda? Garmin, TomTom or are they google maps that we can download and update often? Some updates are available here but they are for Alpine systems..
If we sell our stock CD changer and buy a good quality DVD/Nav System, don't you think we'll make a better deal compared with buying a Chinese system from Honda for 80k!!!?
Yes the current Indash 6cd changer is quoted for 40K. The additional 40K for SATNAV makes it 80000 which i think is too much considering the quality of product they are providing.

All right! my civic is here.. the nav system is not bad and it uses maps of Naqsha.net .. I heared there is a TVOut app for iphone that you can use to display your iphone videos on this screen. I installed the app via cydia but i don't know how this thing works? Therez a standard cable with this system which can be plugged to the iphone/ipod-touch but it plays audio songs only ...

The sound quality is good and the video quality is acceptable. I am not very pleased with the navigation system because it is not user-friendly and finding an address is a nightmare. The instructions booklet included with the navigation system is cheap looking and not very convincing if you ask me. Honda told me that the player is kenwood build but i don't think its true; because yesterday, the screen went dead and i was not able to bring it back to life. I'll be having this checked in a day or do.
naqsha.net maps r very detailed. its almost the most updated maps u can get for Pakistan. but the question is if they r using the latest maps in Honda or not.
