This is more of a plea than a post.
Living near a Dogar Restaurant in DHA Lahore is a big problem nowadays. The waiters are always blocking the roads and every time you try and cross them they deliberately come in front of your car and try their best to make you stop so much so there comes a point where I end up thinking "maybe they're paying for the food?!"
This same behaviour can be seen in all of the H block market and all of Lahore . Opposite Liberty etc.
My question is when did it become okay for them to do this?
Surely there was a time when the waiters were confined within the buildings of their respective restaurants and people would go and sit inside and eat like banday kay puttars.
Moreover I've managed to dismiss these road hogging waiters with a polite nod of the head always or I just wait for them to give way however doing this for a few years now on a daily basis is getting to me as they seem to have goldfish memories and always always try and stop me even though I've never bought anything from there and God forbid if I'll ever eat that junk.
However the thing that most disturbed me lately was that on a few recent occasions while crossing that area with family their waiters did not hesitate in shameless staring.
This is when I knew I had to speak to someone about it. So silly me went to the owner of that same Dogar restaurant in hopes of making a complaint the next day but his behaviour was truly worse and before I could say anything I realized that my plea will most likely be falling on deaf ears or maybe something worse will happen. So I said nothing and came back
Eventually I spoke to two guys from the Dolphin Force (police on heavy bikes) a few days later knowing they come to the same Dogar daily for their dinner and asked them why the waiters are always hogging the roads and why is this just considered as normal behaviour?
First the decent officer said "Sir you are right and we will speak with them and tell them to stop"
So I said "Thank you for speaking to them about it but knowing how things usually proceed nothing will be sorted Aur baat ayein bayein shayein ho jaye gi"
This is when he told me the real reason for all the bullshit that takes place in these markets and I urge everyone reading this to read this part carefully and really think about this deeply.
"Sir, actually the fault doesn't lie with the waiters or how they behave. The boss of any restaurant wants as much business as he can get his hands on so when people who come to these places to eat they sit inside their cars, order on the roadside, tell the waiters to bring the food to the car kay hum idher hi kha lein gay and so this trend of laziness has grown into such a big nuisance for people like you"
And it was at this moment when I realized that saying anything to the waiters is completely wrong kion kay jab khanay wallay khud hi bigray huway hein to phir Khana khilanay wallay ko kehnay ka koi jawaz nahi banta
I thanked him for his honesty. Wished him well and left.
Brothers and sisters. This is an appeal to all of you. Whatever corner of Pakistan you may be in. Please please please stop eating food inside your cars. It is simply a bad habit and nothing good can come from it. These things might not seem like big issues but they breed bigger problems for our mawshrah and grow with time to a point where the bubble bursts and there is no turning back from them.
I hope I have not offended anyone with my post but only shown things as they are.
