This Sunday 18/Nov 2012, I visited Dhaunkal Village situated in Wazirabad, I heared a lot about this village but never visited hence i have many times in Wazirabad.
It was very short visit & only a few pics and I wasn't interested to start a thread but Amir Bhai @ Skill adviced to creat thread atleast for information.
Dhaunkal (Urdu, Punjabi دھونکل) is a town in Gujranwala district, Punjab, Pakistan. It is located on Lahore-Islamabad Highway, 28 kilometres from the district capital Gujranwala and about 15 kilometres from Gujrat . Dhaunkal is one the biggest and oldest town in tehsil Wazirabad. The old Name of Dhaunkal is Klairian wala or Kot Klairian which was changed into Dhaunkal by a Great Sufi Saint Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar Syed Ahmed Sultan.
The population of Dhaunkal is round about 42,000 from which 20,000 registered for Votes casting. All the roads of Dhaunkal are cemented. Due to access of transportation you can move towards Dhaunkal from all over the Pakistan in 24 hours because NHA provides fully access.
Water Supply pipeline covers all the town while there is twice water purification plants installed for public. A large number of peoples from Dhaunkal was settle in abroad & many of them have overseas Nationality
