Visited Ormara last weekend (once again).

It was a 2 days trip with friends and family.

Great stuff Bro! I'm planning to visit there in March Inshallah. Specifically concerned about fuel though. I've gone till Kund Malir though - wondering how much extra fuel I'll have to carry for my Civic Turbo (it seems one of the cars in the group is a Turbo).

Civic performed great. Till Ormara 20-25 liters was enough. We were full load, AC, and speed ~140-160

If you can locate PSO Winder then extra fuel might not be needed in your case as such, even then keeping 10 liter backup is always advisable.

More importantly, try leaving Karachi as early as possible, Fajar is the best time, so that you avoid HUB traffic which is an unnecessary headache later on and fuel consuming also

OK thanks. I would prefer to carry my own fuel (e.g. hi octane from a pump of my choice) but the big factor is safety. Haven't been able to find a proper jerrycan so far.

Especially with the heat - I would think that March would be really warm and the sun would 'kill' you as you go out?

And I assume that you stayed at the military base overnight, cuz I guess there is no other place?

yes safety is an issue - and the smell in the car also. March shall be bearable, manage your time well and it shall be ok. night stay: you are right

@Rahat083144 Buddy March is pretty good time for visiting this place, Last year I went with family on 05th March till Kund Malir and the weather was really pleasant. If you are planning to go till Ormara, fill up your car tank at PSO Winder and carry at least 10 to 15 Liters with you.

I was planning to visit KUND MALIR in march from KHI (as 23rd march is Off friday , so having 3 days off.

may be for a day on Saturday till kund malir. is it safe with the family to go there? only concern.

Safety, as in law and order, is not an issue. You will find a huge crowd at Kund Malir mostly coming from Karachi.

There are other considerations mostly related to driving.
1. Manage your time well, leave very early in the morning. Fajar is the best time, or even a little before. This way you will avoid traffic at Hub. We do breakfast on the way, before Winder. By leaving early you can come back in time. Try to back home before sunset. you will make most of the sunlight, which is natural. traffic on the RCD highway is not pleasant and gets worse after sunset. we same two full size Quetta coaches which fell in the ditch. Drive on Makran Coastal Highway is very pleasant though - almost dream like,
2. Keep extra fuel, around 10-15 liters as backup.
3. Keep plenty of water. I usually take dispenser can with stand and tap.
