Don't run your car on mix of 2 RON type fuel. Eg mixing 87 and 91.

Only use what prescribed by the manufacturer.

Why not mix it up ? my suzuki 5s person asks me to mix it every now and then. and i do it. not sure what is the benefit of it. but he says it helps to clean....

Do not over torque your oil filter, and never forget to apply some oil to the O ring before screwing it in.
Always screw it up with hand until O ring makes contact with engine now make some reference point along the filter to measure number of turns from it then use filter wrench to tighten only 3/4 of a turn from the reference.

Never try to baby your new engine, or drive it on a highway in top gear at constant cruising speed during break-in period, this will prevent the engine from maturing.
Use varying rpm and cycle through all gears at different speeds to vary engine load during break-in period, this will aid in proper break in of all engine and drivetrain parts.
Change the first oil of new vehicle as soon as you can.
Do not use synthetic engine oil during first 2000 km, it will arrest the break-in process.

^Driving carefully (no WOT launch/burnouts and no hard braking) is very different from babying your engine in top gear at constant speed of 55-60 or idling it excessively in the name of "naya engine rawan horaha ha" for more info google "new engine break in process".

3/4 turn, no way - half a turn with hand is more than enough to fight it off the next time. - the secret for successive removal next time is to lube the O ring with "new" engine oil before installing. Another good option is to prefill the filter about half way, this wets the media inside and prevents blowout.

If you own a car with an inverted oil filter - like old toyota xK engines - you know it will make a mess when you remove the filter, To prevent this mess, use a nail to puncture the filter. This allows the filter to drain into the engine and when you unscrew it only a few drops will spill rather than the whole filter charge.

Do not over tighten screws, try to use a torque wrench.
Make sure that after electrical work all wires are properly covered with a sleeve.

right before installing a gasket or laying a bead of gasket maker on a part - wipe it down with a rag of acetone, it will clean the surface and leave no residue behind - this gives the best result of your job.

if you have a paper gasket that is a bit old and stiff, spray it with water to soften it a bit - This allows good performance of the gasket material.

Avoid braking while executing a turn, you'll lose some road grip if you try to brake while cornering. Anticipate the corner and always shed your speed when your wheels are straight before entering into a turn.
Never coast into a corner, always try to Execute turn with power, it gives you more control and slightly better steering.

Never rest your foot on clutch pedal while driving.
Dont try to hold your car steady with clutch on an incline, doing so will cause you to burn your clutch or at very least take thousands of miles off your clutch friction disk's life.
Try to perform "Rev Match" when downshifting, it'll avoid any unnecessary weight shift or shock and will minimize clutch wear.

Learned that lesson the hard way a couple of months ago in my Civic; it was a miracle the car didn't flip over. I was braking and turning at 110 km/h btw. The car doesn't actually lose grip; the weight is shifted to the front wheels (more grip at the front), leading to sudden, unexpected oversteer. A driver who is untrained in racing (like me) will instictively over-correct, leading to a dangerous serpent like dance along the road.

When going for a new battery, prepare the electrolyte yourself, or buy it from a proper source. Using the electrolyte prepared by the battery wala will severely cut the lifespan of the battery. This also applies to UPS batteries.

I would humbly disagree with the highlighted part. For a given amount of traction you can use 100% traction for either braking, accelerating or turning or you can do combination of braking + turning or accelerating + turning but in case of combination you'll lose available traction for one while executing the other, its the principle of traction circle but I dont feel myself qualified enough to thoroughly explain it here so I’ll leave it there.

Dot 4?..Most Of Cars Here Use DOT 3 Unless Its Build To Be Use For DOT 4....Specify That Else DOT 4 In DOT 3 Is A Big Mess! All Seals Can Al Fatiha Right Overnight..

Happened To A Friend....He Need To Redo His Master Cyl/ All Brake Parts Seals With Use Of DOT 4 Over DOT 3....

They Are Interchangeable But Unless You Are Doing A Complete Flush /Brake Job/Seals Replacement...Its Not A Good Idea ...
