so I was driving my charade and I asked my dad what the meaning of this point on the speedometer near 80km/h my dad replied it mean that now it safe to engage 5 gear and I was like serious 5 gear at 80km/h then what the point of having fifth gear (mine is 4 speed BTW) it wont effect economy if we can't shift 5 gear before 80km/h and a 5th gear charade will reach at it peak top gear slower becoz of one extra gear (will be slower than 4 speed one) my DAD have kept two diesel charade before so I am assuming he would be right on this point

P.S I know it will the fifth gear will be pretty economical for highway but for city driving it useless

Fifth at 80 is for economy

found ths ans 5th gear is over driven gear and completely useless in city driving through will be pretty economical on highway

city speeds are very low.. i used the 4th gear even rarely... but i mostly drove my charade in peak traffic times

do you still want the gearbox? I wont recommend replacing your gear box unless your original one has broken down or something..
