i was coming back from peshawar..most of the time m along with some 1 but this time i was alone n driving my self

as i jumped on M2..got the warning signs ..almost 30kms i was ok ... then the battle started ...n it was evening time almost getting into night time

tried everything ..reducing speed n alot ..nothing worked ... finally thought to park the car at rest station n have sleep for an hour or so

but then a cow-rolla passed me giving dippers ..so battle began changing places remaining under the speed radar of 120km/h

moral of the story

i t was luck that paying attention to drive kept we more aggressive n awake all the time

but plzzzz always have good sleep before driving specially on highway .......

its not the speed ...even at 60m/h ...it will make u sleep .....

while Driving at highspeed or competeting some1 you wil not be able to sleep all the thing is attention at night we got bored of driving many times so its better to take rest before driving

There are no rumble strips on the road drive. Actually the road is pretty smooth and confortable to have a sleep on the wheel. Fazal bhai what u urself do to get rid of sleep while driving? Is there any orher way apart from stopping and having rest?

Yes this happened in split second. There were 2 families traveling together the car in front found that the other car is missing in the rear view they tried to call them and upon no response, came back a few kms to find this disaster.

I confess that I have driven drowsy many times on motorway. One day my car drifted to the left and was about to hit a Daewoo bus but Daewoo driver alerted me by honking horn and a Corrola, coming from the back, started flashing dipper. I was lucky that I survived and didn’t hit bus as I woke up at the very moment and steered my car back into the lane. That day I took it seriously and started taking measures to save myself from drowsy driving. I list down below some of these.

1. When you know you will be travelling on motorway then take a good night sleep for at least 8 hours (YES, 8 hours minimum). If you are unable to sleep for 8 hours in a stretch then definitely sleep for an hour before starting your trip.
2. Buy a Red Bull, Sting and keep it in your car. As soon as you feel drowsy, take three to four sips of the drink. It is not recommended to have these drinks frequently so I suggest you buy one keep it in car and use other techniques to overcome your sleepiness and if all fails then have energy drink otherwise just keep it in your fridge for your next trip.
3. Have a cup of coffee at any stay point you reach. It is worth spending that time. What I usually do is that I go to washroom first then wet my back of the neck, wash my face, and take one minute walk. Then I have a cup of coffee and drive off. This is very effective way.
4. Drink water every now and then. It will surely keep you awake. But it can’t compensate for lack of sleep so it won’t work if you are very tired.
5. Try to sing songs. I have found this trick to be very effective especially if you are a good singer or fond of singing. Just download lyrics (preferably remember them by heart) and sing song and record them while you are driving (be sure to use hand free so that you drive safe and don’t get ticket). Listening to loud music doesn’t help me while driving.
6. This is critical and very very effective. Ask your loved one to call you every half hour while you are driving. I ask my dearest friend to do so. You can ask your mom, sis, dad, wife, brother, or any of your colleagues of friends to call you every half hour and talk to you for a while. This will keep you awake for sure (again use hands free or any other device for call while driving)
7. Don’t drive alone. Keep a companion with you. This is not practical everytime but if you can do so it is a great way to keep yourself awake.
   In the end your life is more precious than your job or anything else. Invest in a safer car (ignore resale), drive within speed limits, and DON’T SLEEP while driving.
