This is very basic and simple DIY for draining and replenishing the radiator coolant, performed on my Suzuki Khyber 1996 a few days back. Total time taken was around 15 mins. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> A bottle of drinking water (better if use distilled water as drinking water has traces of minerals) but it isn't mineral water only pure drinking water that is why it is also okay to use. A can of Osaka 500 mil coolant - for 50/50 or 60/40 mix. I used 60/40 i.e. 800ml and 500ml coolant. I will use only water to level coolant later if needed. <o:p></o:p>
??? :S
As you can see water/coolant mixture became rusty. So instead of using the old radiator drainage hole at the bottom, I removed the upper hose pipe to drain the contents. Started the engine so that coolant start circulating and become little warmer before removing the pipe.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p><o:p> </o:p>The cap has also has traces of rusty mud on it so cleaned it with an old toothbrush under running water.<o:p></o:p><o:p> </o:p>Stopped the engine, removed the pipe and start the engine again so that all existing coolant could be drained. Washed it till water came out clean and stopped the engine once again. <o:p></o:p>

Finally replaced everything where it belongs to. The car now has fresh coolant which will hopefully go well in summer.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Well Done for effort not so well done for choosing a cheap quality coolant.
very much low quality coolant, as i used it 2 months back in my xli 06, after 2 weeks the green color became transparent as its a simple water.,
dear you have chosen a pathetic coolant,,,,,,,,its nothing more than a colored water , guard is 100 times batter than osaka and nasa,,,,,,,,,,,you can use the drain nut below the radiator to drain all the rusty liquid
The way you drained and filled only removed about 30% of the coolant, The correct way is to remove the thermostat valve and either do an acid flush or at least reverse flush the system, then push out all water with compressed air or fill with a stronger concentration of coolant that it can mix with the water already trapped in the block.
The coolant you bought is nothing but "robbery" - might as well have gone to a "duppata coloring shop" and collect his dye water. Correct coolant for your engine would be "fuchs or ZIC' branded OAT coolants, the caltex "kinoo" coolant is also good.
